Blue and Gold

The sky is blue and our ornamental grasses are golden. The Goldenrod is in it’s prime.

I’m patting myself on the back for being able to tackle a cart load of weeds.

We are so grateful to be able to see the layers of our mountains again and blue skies. The smoke has cleared and we are breathing easy.

Hope all is well where you live these last few days of September.

I’m at our Women’s retreat today. I won’t be getting around to blogland until Monday. Cheers!

  1. those are gorgeous blue skies, and your garden looks lovely! I live 25 miles east of seattle, but my daughters are closer to the Bear gulch fires. I was worried for them! But God is good! I hope you have a wonderful time at your retreat!

  2. Happy retreating, Ellen. Good for you with all of the weeding you have been able to do now that the air is safe to be back outside.

  3. My oldest sister’s (died in 2022) school colors were blue and gold and that’s the first thing I thought of when I read the title. 🙂

That sky is SO blue! It’s just gorgeous. And it really compliments those ornamental grasses. I’d love to have more fall color in my garden but never even considered adding those kinds of plants. Thank you for the idea. Congratulations on pulling all those weeds! That was a lot of work.

I pray you have a great time at the retreat.

  4. Outstanding photos Ellen and I am so glad you and everyone else affected do not have to contend with the smoke from the fires. I say once again Bless the firefighters and all others involved in protecting us all. Enjoy your Women’s Retreat this weekend.

  5. You deserve that pat on the back. That cart of weeds is impressive! So good to see your blue skies and to hear that the air is clear again! I hope that you have enjoyed your retreat and have been refreshed!
