This song is titled My Hope is Built and sometimes The Solid Rock
My Hope is Built
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly trust in Jesus’ name.
Refrain
On Christ the solid rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.
When darkness seems to hide His face,
I rest on His unchanging grace.
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
Refrain
His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood.
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
Refrain
When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh may I then in Him be found.
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
Refrain
Words: Edward Mote, circa 1834; first appeared in Mote’s Hymns of Praise, 1836.

…Ellen, I wish you a wonderful summer Sunday.
Happy Sunday Ellen!
Love the Cannon Beach photo!
Take care, have a great day and a happy new week!
We used to sing this hymn quite a bit in the church that I attended as a child. It is a great one- the music and the lyrics. Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful words and I think I recognize the photo. Would this be in California or I could be confusing it with another rocky beach?
Denise, This is in Oregon at Cannon Beach.
Another great hymn and one we sing often at church.
Amen. Happy Sunday, dear Ellen!
