Soccer Camp and More

It’s that time of the summer when soccer camps happen and right on the heels our city youth soccer teams are formed.

Tonight they will meet their teams and coaches for the next few weeks.

Meanwhile here are some current visitors on our property.

Turkey families have been showing up.

They are very hard to see but these are itty bitty little quail. They are so little and so cute.

Fun to see the flitting butterflies landing on the lavender.

I’ll share what has been blooming here in my next post.

  1. It is always good to see the kids involved with outdoor activities.

Love the turkey family , the quail and your pretty flowers.

Take care, have a great day and happy week ahead.

  2. Great times for the darling grands. It reminds me of our own grands and our children. How wonderful to see the turkeys and the quail and the butterfly.

  3. The little quail are SO adorable. When we lived in our previous location there was a quail family that we could count on seeing every year. So sweet.

Your little soccer players are as adorable as ever, Ellen.

    • Dianna, they are so cute. Right now we have groups of babies, toddlers, elementary and junior high sized quail. Thank you for stopping by…

  4. I admit even as an avid birder, I haven’t seen a turkey or a quail before. Are they wild? I mean, can you trap them and … uh… have a feast? 🙂

    • Arti, They are wild. The area we live in is called the turkey capital of our state. You can hunt them during a designated turkey hunting season. I suppose if we wanted to we could eat quail but we choose just to watch them. Thanks for stopping by!
