Smoky Sunrise

On Saturday morning we walked the Rotary Trail at Sunrise.

The skies reflect the fact that there are fires in our area.

Our conditioning for walking in England is going well. Hopefully we can continue these walks after we return because it’s good for our overall health.

The small white streak against the mountains above is a plane taking off from the small Colville airport.

At the end of our walk is this section of wild flowers blooming. It’s fun to see the poppies.

We walked the trail again on Sunday at dawn and the sun came up above the mountains at the end of our walk.

It was good to be in the House of the Lord on Sunday to declare together with the ‘Body’ that our Lord and Savior is Worthy of all our praise and adoration.

Hope your extended Labor Day weekend is going well and you will have rest from your labors today!

  1. Beautiful sunrise even with the smoke, I have recently started my routine of walking, it has been a challenge with the high temps. and humidity in our area, but I keep trucking along.~smile~
Thank you for visiting and for you welcoming me back, and for the encouragement,I am a little slow in getting back, it is still preserving time on the homestead, I am now canning pears with apples soon to follow!
It was so nice to hear that your family is freeze drying food, getting one is tops on my list! I am trying to be a good girl, maybe santa will be generous this year. !smile!.
Always a joy to visit with you.
    Blessings,
    Sue

  2. A shame about the fires but it makes great looking skies.
So glad you are enjoying your walks. I know just how you feel. : )
    Your photos are beautiful.

  3. Such pretty wildflowers along your walk! We have had some smokey skis lately from wildfire smoke in Idaho coming our way. I bought a portable HEPA filter air cleaner last year and it is helpful to keep our indoor air clear and healthy when it is smokey outside

  4. Hi Ellen,

What an interesting and beautiful sunrise! I’m sorry you’re experiencing wildfires in your area; we had a few of those last summer, which is kind of unusual here. Those wildflowers are so pretty, and so are the blue mountains in the background.

It’s great that you and your hubby are walking. Hal and I have been walking on the indoor track at our “Y” because it’s been way too hot to walk outside. We’re gradually increasing our number of laps, so I hope to lose some weight and get more fit. When do you leave for England? I would love to be going, myself. 🙂

    Have a great week, Ellen!

    Hugs,

    Denise
