Before I share about my day in Canada I want to acknowledge the 75th anniversary of D-Day. A day that stopped a force of evil that threatened the well being of mankind. A great evil was restrained that day. Thank you to all the young men who stormed that beach.
Have a thoughtful day…
Amen!
I visited the Normandy D-Day beaches and the different war graves with a group of fellow history students in 1975. An emotional experience then and still is as we watched the television coverage of the commemoration of the D-Day landings yesterday evening and today. We remember and give thanks for the sacrifice made for democracy and freedom.
Thank you, Ellen, for remembering.
So sad to have missed this wonderful celebration! I thought this poem expressed our friendship so well.
