We are again pleased with our stress free Mystery Tree for 2017. We bought it at Home Depot this year and brought it home tied up with string. We skipped having it netted since we had the truck to bring it home in. This is a tradition we have kept going for several years now borrowed from my sister-in-law.
It’s a taller and chubbier tree then we’ve had in the past few years. My decorations have always been down home not fancy. Red glass balls that have now seen better days and ornaments we’ve received or collected over the years.
Our new ornament this year is Addy’s hand print and she turned 9 months old on December 20th!
Looking forward to the day that Addy will be able to enjoy the hands on Nativity sets.
I’m pleased to say that all the gifts I’m responsible for are wrapped and under the tree. Now I’m moving on to making the shopping lists for the meals we will enjoy on Christmas Eve and Christmas day.
I’ve been asking myself what day it is each day this week. How are things going for you?

Your tree and other Christmas decorations look lovely.
May you and yours have a Happy Christmas ~ FlowerLady
Such a beautiful mystery tree all decked out, especially, with the addition of your new precious ornament.
Thank you for your gift of your blog. I have so enjoyed unwrapping it each time I received it.
Merry Christmas to you and family.
I love your tree, Ellen! How precious all the ornaments are, especially Addys handprint. ❤❄️
Hello, your mystery tree looks perfect. I love all the beautiful decorations, many happy memories from Christmas past. Addy’s handprint is adorable. Have a happy day and weekend ahead. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Hi Ellen, I can almost smell your lovely tree! The decorations are so sweet, especially Addy’s handprint. I look forward to you sharing lots of photos of Christmas Eve and Day. God bless you all!
Wow, your tree is lovely indeed! I never would have thought it would have that beautiful shape from looking at it wrapped. I’m so behind this year due to being sick but making some progress. Not looking forward to the grocery store trip on Saturday.
Very bright!
Pretty tree – nice and full. Beautiful ornaments.
Your tree looks beautiful.
I prefer a plain and homey tree too–decorated with memories.
I’m up to packing and travel…
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
I love your Christmas tree! It reminds me of our tree through the years with a hodgepodge of ornaments that have fond memories. I’ve enjoyed following along this year as your Addy has grown so rapidly. She sure is a cutie!
Your mystery trees always look fabulous! Love that 9-month photo of Addy. 🙂
The tree is beautiful! I love your ornaments and nativities too.
Wishing you and all those you love a Very Merry Christmas. xoxoxo
I’d say that mystery tree is a very fine fellow!!!! So beautiful with all your sentimental and lovely ornaments. Hugs to you and all your loved ones as you celebrate Christmas!
Beautiful tree! We have a baby (Jesus) in a walnut shell too!
Merry Christmas, Ellen.
Great post. Doing the Christmas decorating is something I enjoy. Love the old tried and true ornaments. My kids were into horses (sill are) and 4H so we have many horsey ornaments.
Enjoy your family and celebrate the birth of Jesus.

I am glad that you shared some close-ups shots of your tree! It is fun to see family history and interests reflected in the collection of ornaments. I loved seeing your English ornaments, as well as the ones handmade by your children. Of course, I also love that there is a little hand print ornament added to your collection this year! Joy!
The mystery tree is a success again this year!
It’s lovely to have a real tree and the ornaments are beautiful and meaningful to you and your family. Thank you for sharing. Wishing you the peace, the joy and the love of the Lord this Christmas and in the coming year.
