Be Merry…

Things have finally settled down enough in our kitchen renovations so I could start decorating for Christmas.

I’ve acquired a few new nativity sets over the last few years. I’ve had a conversation with myself and have agreed to not purchase any more.

Looks like the theme this year at this old house is to Be Merry!

You can see my neighbors lights out the window. They really light up the night! We have not purchased our Mystery Tree yet.

My extra motivation for decorating was our small group Christmas Appetizer potluck. I made Lovella’s Cocktail Sausage Wreath again.

I’ve been real slow in catching up with visits to blogs. I hope to come by soon.

With clear and cold days here and more to come it is a good time for Dear to replace the windows in our new Master Bathroom renovation. He has to work out on the roof so it’s nice to have it dry and less slippery. Slowly and surely with long work days things are getting done. The kitchen backsplash is all done and the last thing to do is the new trim around the window above the sink.

  1. You are such an inspiration!!! How ever do you get SO much done? Your decorations are so pretty and I love the theme. Yes, I too need to have a talk with myself about a few things over here – sigh. Happy decorating …

  2. Your nativity sets are beautiful. The fireplace, the glimpse of other decorations and the lights decorating your neighbours’ house add to the festive look at your home. I haven’t started decorating apart from one little pottery nativity set. Candles are lit after dark for Advent. I’m on the look out for one or two new ornaments from craft fairs and charity shops and will put up the tree nearer to Christmas Day. We are expecting more snow that will settle and icy conditions.

  3. So glad that things have slowed down just a bit . . . at least enough for you to enjoy your Christmas decorations! And they look so pretty!

I have those sort of conversations with myself sometimes. Just yesterday, I talked myself out of (yet another!) package of Christmas napkins. I hardly have room on the designated shelf for the (many!) packages I have now. Yes, it is a cheap hobby, but one can only use so many . . .

  4. Lovely Christmas scene at your home. We’re having exceptionally warm temps. 10C that’s 50C which is balmy for us here in Calgary in Dec. I’m not one wishing for a white Christmas. 🙂

  5. Beautiful decorations…but oh my…those nativities are gorgeous
I love the sausage wreath… I may just steal that idea
Blessings from a very “Merry” Phoebe x

  6. Thanks for commenting at my blog. Things at work have been talked over, so it’s much easier now. I finally started to decorate my home. But not finished yet. I LOVE your nativity set, and your other decorations. And that cocktail Sausage Wreath…hmmmm!
Glad your kitchen is coming along but doesn’t it feel weird finally doing all these reno’s only to know that someone else will be enjoying them in the future? Just something I thought about.
