…but not in a bad way! Guys enjoying their time and the gals enjoying their time.
On Saturday the guys were headed to a local shooting range to sight in their rifles for a family hunting trip in October so Katie and I decided to try out a hike close to us, the Redmond Watershed, that you can link to here. Since we didn’t have bear repellent we did a lot of talking and singing along the paths we walked on.
I wouldn’t mind having a bench like this.
There were trails that were open to horses, bicycles and walkers and then some that were only open to walkers.
We marveled that we could have a hike/walk like this in the middle of a city. It was a very pleasant area with level paths and a few elevations that were very easy to navigate. We put in over 10,000 steps and could have gone farther if my lower back wasn’t fussing at me from all the vacuuming and cleaning Dear and I had accomplished the days previous. We enjoyed lunch together and a trip to a Farmer’s Market in Redmond before coming to the hungry aid of our guys with a drive through order from Chick Fil-A.
Saturday was another smokey day here after several clear days. Today Sunday, we are promised rain and more rain and we are happy for this forecast for all the fires that are still raging. After church we did a quick mowing of the lawn to pick up all the pear and apple tree leaves that have fallen. We wanted a clean lawn for the rain. As I look out the window now I’m now seeing the rain fall and for that I am thankful.
Hope you all had a good weekend.

What a perfectly wonderful place for a walk! Sounds like a fun day for everybody. I see that Katie has gone with her love for π Looks cute! Trusting that a bit of icing and putting your feet up will take care of the lower back that is “fussing.”
Good eye on Katie’s hair color, Vee. Thanks for the tip!
…I’d rather go on the hike.
A hike before the rain – yes! Like you, when we’re in bear country we sing and talk loudly and clap once in awhile.
Let it rain!
It is raining a little bit here in Eugene too — and I am hoping for more and harder! (And feeling sort of guilty for all the times in the past when i complained about rain). It’s good to have ‘girl time’ and ‘male bonding’ sometimes!!
I bet the temps were cool in that forest. It’s beautiful. And yes so thankful for the rain! They say our winter is expected to be colder and wetter than normal this year. Won’t that be fun?! π
A lovely hike!
Bear repellent? Yikes!
Mr. Decor and I often take separate vacations. He just got back from a 3-day golfing escape with friends. A family divided is a good base for a happy reunion. Loved hearing about your hike and sharing such lovely images.
Have a wonderful week!
It looks as if you had a good, relaxing hike especially where there were fragrant pine trees. Glad to hear that you are getting some much needed rain.
The last chance for a hike before the rain! My husband and I had a last day at the beach before rain in Ocean Shores with our daughter, her husband and our grandkids. Now pour!
That sounds lovely, winneyb. It’s been many years since we visited Ocean Shores.
What a great hike that looks like. I’d have enjoyed it too.
That is pretty amazing that you were able to take a hike like that in a city! Sounds like a place to go again.
Hope your back quiets down. Nice to have an excuse to sit peacefully and listen to the rain.
I always enjoy a hike with my daughter too, talking and singing and not because of bears, I’m glad to say!
Isn’t it great to have such a beautiful place to hike near by? I bet it feels good to get that many steps in, all while enjoying being together … divided.
Looks like you had a lovely day.
