Ohio

O is for Ohio. I have an abundance of photos taken while in Amish/Mennonite country in Ohio and Indiana. The sights we saw were otherworldly and original for us. You could hear me exclaim “oh my goodness, look at that!” Also, “oh my, look at all that pie”.

Other sights that made us look more than once.

The schoolyards so very different from our experience.

Our room was outstanding too with lots of square footage and nice outside views.

The clip clop of the horse drawn buggies was the highlight in this part of Ohio and in Indiana.

We’re traveling today and unable to be online to see all your October posts. I’ll be back online soon.

  1. Fun “O” photos…and lots of “oh” moments!
Your room looks lovely and spacious, a real home away from home! Love the hogs, especially the one looking at the camera. 🙂
Did you choose a slice of pie from all of those selections? I’d have had a difficult time deciding, although I think I’d have had to try raspberry cream.

  2. Great photos. Love the full frontal of curious pig, the horse’s ears around the gentleman’s hat, the multicolored rainbow of kids in their outfits, and the homey quilt on the hotel room bed. Makes me want to travel to Ohio meself!

  3. What a wonderful trip. My grandparents lived near the Amana Colonies in Iowa and we sometimes ate at a restaurant there. I remember Mile High Pie!

  4. Oh but the sights of your trip are just thrilling for me! We dined in the Berlin Farmstead Restaurant & couldn’t believe the portion size!
I love the shot of the children at play!
    Best wishes!

  5. Scenes seen nowhere else! Makes me want to visit our Amish community except they are way up north. Love your accommodations! Enjoy your road trip.

  6. I’ve never been there but it looks lovely! I have a friend who visits a friend in Iowa and she is very taken with the entire Midwest now. BTW, so sorry to be this late in commenting but what a week I’ve had!
