It’s time for the letter U and here in the Great Northwest a good choice for U is Umbrella.
We attended a wedding of the son of some dear friends of ours in Oregon and it just poured. The venue offered white umbrellas to all the guests. This photo above if of my cousin and his wife and the photo below is of my cousin and her husband. I think they pulled out their own black umbrella to use instead of using the venues white ones.
Our daughter again a couple years ago with a parasol. Close enough for jazz.
Thank you to Denise Nesbitt for starting ABC Wednesday and to Roger and the team, too!
Welcome December! Today our Thanksgiving company flies home and I will dive into the Christmas preparations. Have you started decorating yet?

I like the pictures at the wedding with all the guests holding their UMBRELLAS… As Melody would say, UNIQUE ! The pictures are so bright one wouldn’t believe it was raining !
Best wishes,

Great choice for the Pacific Northwest – thankfully, in my little corner of it, we get a lot less than other areas of Greater Vancouver.

A most apt post. It seems that our cold sunny weather is about to change and umbrellas will certainly be needed. I’ve done a bit of decorating and will get to more as the days go by. I’m trying to be in the moment and not get too driven this year. Cute umbrella photos, Ellen.
It’s an umbrella day in ALB

Great shots of the umbrellas for U ~ My favorite are of your daughter in the 1st one and then again with the parasol!
Wishing you a magical week,

Guess a gal needs to learn how to carry an umbrella in the Northwest! Amazing that so many weddings are planned for outdoors given the notorious weather. =D
I think an umbrella is the most useful article we need now!

How great that the venue supplied umbrellas!
Great photos with beautiful people and umbrellas.

What a fun collection … Your beautiful family makes rainy days look like fun!
Hi Ellen, “Umbrella” has definitely been the word of the day around here lately. It’s been raining here for two days straight, and I believe rain is predicted again for tomorrow. I love the picture of your young daughter — she was adorable!! Her smile looks like yours. 🙂
Unfortunately, I haven’t started my Christmas decorating yet due to illness. I hope I feel well enough to start tomorrow. Thanks so much for your visits, and have a wonderful week!
Hugs,
Denise
I love the great variety of umbrella’s that are available now, – but of course live in a semi desert area where an umbrella is hardly ever needed, so they sit unused in the umbrella stand, along with my cane that I am also inclined to ignore….
It has been an umbrella day here!
I love the picture of toddler Katie with her umbrella…so cute!! (Of course, Katie is still cute, as evidenced in that last photo!!)
Decorating has begun but is not complete. We are both busy and slow-moving. Not a great combination! 🙂
excellent.
My sister-in-law makes umbrellas and even gives classes at a local craft shop.
What a creative U post. 🙂 Love the pictures as always!
Very sweet U photos. Last year orange umbrellas caught my eye. This year, it’s white umbrellas with lights on them. 🙂
