Over President’s Weekend Dear and I worked on phase one of our sprucing up the yard project. I promised before and after photos and here they are.
I decided on the Primroses in the Cinder Block because the property our home sits on used to be called Primrose Acres.
Phase Two will include digging out these stones and leveling out the pathway beside this planter and putting in a flat walkway using pavers. Our plan for the pavers will help support the planter wall and we will be able to take out the temporary supports you can see along this section.
The walkway will extend to the existing deck and we will add a step next to this section of the deck which will make stepping up and down easier.
We are enjoying the fresh clean look. We hope to get started on Phase Two this coming weekend. It will be another Ibuprofen weekend around this old house!
Its looking great.
Looks fantastic and labor intensive!
It looks terrific, Ellen! Your fern looks really pretty in your border area. 🙂 I absolutely love Primroses this time of year; they’re so colorful and so very cheerful. They are just sweet, little flowers. 🙂
You and you hubby did a great job, and I know exactly what you mean about the ibuprofen, my friend. 😉 Take care and have a wonderful weekend!
Hugs,
Denise
Love it….primroses on Primrose Lane!
It’s sprucing time here, too. A little a day is my mantra.
It’s looking great, Ellen!!
Your comment about the ibuprofen made me smile…mostly because I can relate! 😉
It’s coming along, Ellen! I’m sure it must feel great to make visible progress.
Lots of hard work happening. With wonderful results!
You are going to have fun all year round there – it is so crisp and fresh looking! What a lot of work!

I can see why you have been so busy out there. That planter looks great and sure makes it look tidy all around.
Good job you guys! I am in awe of your Spring weather!!! It’s close to -30 Celcius again today and we are longing for Spring…..
