The Monte Villa Farm land has long since been converted to other uses. The land is now used as a business park as it is adjacent to the 405 Freeway running through Bothell and Canyon Park. The Farmhouse still stands and has been used as a wedding venue until just recently. The old barn has been converted into a nice restaurant with a loft for private parties or wedding receptions. The land next door to the Barn is now being used by Eastlake Community Church which is thriving and growing.
Last August we celebrated our son Josh and Laura’s 13th wedding anniversary at Russell’s Restaurant in the converted barn. Here’s a collage of what the interior of the restaurant looks like.

Welcome to February. I’m feeling a lot better and hope to be back to speed by the time this week is over. This will be an interesting month at this old house with work related stuff and of course a visit to the Taxman. No travel that I know of yet so maybe I’ll finally do some deep cleaning around here. What’s new with you?
Oh, wow, I so love this…can you imagine what a great barn it was before it was converted. Not that I don’t like the conversion. Just find it amazing that such a beautiful barn was built.
That is a marvelous looking barn. The change to a restaurant inside much have taken lots of rebuilding. A fine post.
I always wanted to live in a barn. My mother would always ask “do you live in a barn” when I didn’t close the door. Tom The Backroads Traveller
Beautiful barn! I love it when old buildings are converted into something useful and given new life.
Old unused barns make great houses too.
This one is lovely as a restaurant.
We’ll have to meet up the next time I come to Washington! I love the restaurant you guys went to for the anniversary! There are so many cool barns in Skagit County. I just don’t like pulling over to photograph them because of all the ditches!
How wonderful that this beautiful barn was preserved and used as a restaurant. It looks like your son and daughter in law’s anniversary party held there was very nice! Glad you are feeling better—–shhhhh—don’t want to think about the tax man–lol!
Love the barn! I understand that they are popular wedding venues, which I think is kind of neat. I visited the Biltmore House in Asheville, NC a couple of years ago and they have a restaurant in one of their old horse barns. Quite an interesting place.
February is busy for us as our oldest son is shipping out to Basic Military Training on the 24th. That means lots of paperwork has to be gathered and supplies purchased. Plus, I will get to travel to Texas in April for his graduation! I am excited about that as I have never been there before.
So glad to see that you are better. I hope it continues in that direction. And, this place looks marvelous. I love seeing these wonderful stately places being re-purposed into something for all to enjoy. Thanks for sharing it with us this week!
I love that it was converted into something that is well used!
I used to work on that dairy back in the mid 60’s ,it was a real nice farm.I am glad they saved the barns.wish I could go back to those days. Tom holden.
