The fun has started on our main floor bathroom. Dear will be doing all the stripping of the old materials ahead of the bath renovators coming in later in July. We have to start ahead of time because we are weekend warriors. We have one more group event at our home that we will need the toilet for this Thursday so the major demo work won’t be until next weekend. Today that old window is coming out and hopefully by Sunday afternoon the new window will be in. The new window is being moved over to the next stud so we have room for a wider bathtub and surround. The window project will involve some outdoor siding work also.
For now the tub is being used for trash!
Once the project is over I will share the before and after photos!
I’ll manage to fit in some soccer watching today, too. World Cup is starting this Thursday and I’m getting excited. Do you watch soccer at your house? I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I happen to really enjoy the sport.

This kind of picture looks so familiar to me. We’ve done renovations almost all of our married life and love the reward of seeing it all come together.

Oh my, room renovations are a lot of work, aren’t they? We had our kitchen re-modeled two years ago, and that was a biggie. Boy was it ever worth it, though. 🙂 I know you’ll just love having a “new” bathroom.
We don’t really watch soccer here, though my husband used to play on a community team when we were first married. Today, we plan on watching the Belmont Stakes horse race; we’re really pulling for California Chrome. 🙂

Ah yes the infamous bathroom reno – I’ve done a few too many of those in my day but it’s ALWAYS worthwhile in the end! Right now the hockey game is blaring in the living room but I too have felt the soccer fever (especially when we were in Italy in 2006). That is where I experienced what the most popular sport of this world truly is.
Good luck with the project! Can’t wait to see the finished product. I watch soccer when my gkids play, that’s about it. We watched the Belmont Stakes, here in NY. Funny to see our Gov. With the Semi Homemade cooking show gal, his girl friend, at his side.

We don’t watch much soccer around here, but the ice hockey game is on right now. Always love to see the before and after photos – sounds like you have great plans for your bathroom.

Oh, joy. We went through the bathroom reno last year, and it was not the happiest time of my life. Good thing most of it was going on while I was still under the influence of the surgery drugs! 🙂 It’s good that you guys are doing some of the work yourselves. That’ll really save on the $$$. Moving that window is really an ambitious undertaking!
My son used to play soccer as a child, but I could never really get into it as hard as I may have tried. I was also married to a soccer player from El Salvador years ago. Still…never could work up the interest. I know it’s really growing in popularity, so I guess I’d better figure out a way to get on board! Enjoy!!!
