A Prayer in Spring
by Robert Frost
Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers to-day;
And give us not to think so far away
As the uncertain harvest; keep us here
All simply in the springing of the year.
Oh, give us pleasure in the orchard white,
Like nothing else by day, like ghosts by night;
And make us happy in the happy bees,
The swarm dilating round the perfect trees.
And make us happy in the darting bird
That suddenly above the bees is heard,
The meteor that thrusts in with needle bill,
And off a blossom in mid air stands still.
For this is love and nothing else is love,
The which it is reserved for God above
To sanctify to what far ends He will,
But which it only needs that we fulfil.
I hope Spring weather will arrive and Spring flowers bloom in your neck of the woods!

Great picture of your “little guys” in their shorts…so cute! Beautiful poem…especially the last verse! I think the entire country is ready for the “springing” to begin!
What lovely family keepsakes these photos are. And love your first pic. As for us, today we have snow, yes, blowing snow. I’m still waiting for spring. 😉
Great photos from times past. Welcome, welcome spring!
Oh the precious memories!! We had a yellow VW back in the day and I can so identify with your pictures. So special to see little wee Katie and her cute brothers – adorable! We’re longing for Spring over here and are staying calm and hopeful!
Me too! I may have to wander around in former springs for a bit. Wonderful photos! Katie is so cute.
So fun to see Laguna forty years ago! And your husband with those styling glasses. Roomie enjoyed seeing his red VW 🙂
