I’m sharing some photos our son sent along of some true winter scenes at his new home in Eastern Washington. He’s talking about the need for some snow clearing equipment and I can see why…

The snow on top of the bird feeders reminded him of Marge Simpson’s hair. Too bad it’s not blue…

How is the first day of winter where you live? We are still having rain and it’s cold but no snow that sticks around.
a Mother Goose poem
Cold and raw the north wind doth blow,
Bleak in the morning early;
All the hills are covered with snow,
And winter’s now come fairly.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Oh, good heavens! THAT’S a lot of snow!!! Nearly up to the rear bumper!!! We got about 3″ here night before last, which wasn’t real bad…except for the 1/4″ of ice beneath it!!!!!!!! It’s not expected to get out of the 20s today. NOW it’s lookin’ like Christmas around here! Winter has certainly “come fairly”!!! Merry Christmas to you and your awesome family!
Oh that’s interesting about the ads here at WordPress. Hmmm…
Yes, he is going to need a plow or a snow blower at the least. That’s a lot of snow and it’s early yet.
What began early this morning with such promise…lots of beautifully falling snow is ending in lots of rain and temps in the 50s. Not my ideal day, but any day is a good one.
Oh, how lovely!! That must have been a very gentle, piling snowfall!!! It’s beautiful.
We are getting a “skiff” this morning but nothing seems to be sticking – is it O.K. to wish for snow at Christmas??? After that – I’m all for clear roads and not much of that white stuff – smile!
Glory….that is a lot of beauty. We are melting down and in wait for our Colorado daughter to drive in…so thankful for no snow for a few days. I LOVE snow, but know all the momma’s hearts are waiting for family to travel safely!
Yikes, it does look beautiful though! We went from a beautiful above freezing day yesterday to -16*C today. It’s supposed to be “lightly” snowing over the next few days. We’ll see. We might just have a white Christmas this year.
I’m glad someone is sharing my experience. We’ll be getting real winter Christmas week. That’s what a lot of us are dreaming for, right? Now we get it. 😉
Breathtakingly beautiful snow! How I long for some of it here. Meanwhile, I’ll enjoy all the lovely photos bloggers put up.
I am enjoying the views of all that snow from afar…here the first day of winter started out about 42 degrees, and the sun is shining in the blue sky. Should get up to 65 today. Marge Simpson’s hair made me laugh!
That’s a good dumping of snow! It’ll take him all day to shovel out with a scoop shovel!
It is so beautiful when it is in someone else’s area! We got a dusting the other day…it is cold here, though.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas, Ellen.
So beautiful! Don’t you wish you could go play on his yard…just for a bit? Hopefully he can dig out from under…and join you at the coast for Christmas.
I think that snow is a good excuse for a man to buy a new ride on toy:) Love the ‘hair’ on the bird house…I see what you see there:) We have snow falling outside…..I can see that it will soon melt into slushy puddles.
BRRRRR!! It feels very remote with all those heaps of snow. December 21 here was nippy but sunny and warm during the day.
