Rosemary reminded me of this old favorite of mine and I wanted to share it today…
I Stand Amazed in the Presence
I stand amazed in the presence
Of Jesus the Nazarene,
And wonder how He could love me,
A sinner, condemned, unclean.
Refrain
O how marvelous! O how wonderful!
And my song shall ever be:
O how marvelous! O how wonderful!
Is my Savior’s love for me!
For me it was in the garden
He prayed: “Not My will, but Thine.”
He had no tears for His own griefs,
But sweat drops of blood for mine.
O how marvelous! O how wonderful!
And my song shall ever be:
O how marvelous! O how wonderful!
Is my Savior’s love for me!
In pity angels beheld Him,
And came from the world of light
To comfort Him in the sorrows
He bore for my soul that night.
O how marvelous! O how wonderful!
And my song shall ever be:
O how marvelous! O how wonderful!
Is my Savior’s love for me!
He took my sins and my sorrows,
He made them His very own;
He bore the burden to Calvary,
And suffered and died alone.
O how marvelous! O how wonderful!
And my song shall ever be:
O how marvelous! O how wonderful!
Is my Savior’s love for me!
When with the ransomed in glory
His face I at last shall see,
’Twill be my joy through the ages
To sing of His love for me.
O how marvelous! O how wonderful!
And my song shall ever be:
O how marvelous! O how wonderful!
Is my Savior’s love for me!
Words: Charles H. Gabriel, 1905.

I remember this one! Haven’t thought of it or sung it in ages. The chorus was always so lilting and joyful.
Love that hymn and we sing it often for Hymn Sing at the nursing home! Such wonderful words to praise our Savior! Have a fabulous Lord’s Day. We celebrate Thanksgiving on Sunday at the church and take it easy on Monday!!
I don’t think we do that enough….stand amazed! He truly is amazing and what He has done for us is, too! Happy Sunday to you!
You know I love this one, so thanks for giving opportunity to sing it again!
My son and I sang this hymn together in the car just now after church. What a blessing!
A beautiful hymn! How wonderful to know the love of God.
Another old favorite. Love these, Ellen.
We sing this A LOT at our current church…. 😉 Thanks for sharing.
Greetings from Wordwise Hymns. Glad to see Charles Gabriel’s hymn is “an old favourite.” I posted an article on it this morning. God bless you and yours.
