This mama duck is really excited that papa duck flies over the skies of Washington today on his way to SeaTac airport. Because he was in Europe we didn’t have the daily phone call opportunities that make being apart from each other easier. So much news to share, mostly good but some sad news, too. He gets home a little before noon on Wednesday.

Maybe he’ll have a window seat and get to see our dramatic Washington volcanoes from the plane…

I mowed the weeds yesterday and used the mower as a vacuum for the leaves that have fallen. Maybe I’ll put something in the crockpot so things smell good when Dear arrives. It’s good that he’ll have Thursday off so he can work on that jet lag that always accompanies such a long trip through several time zones. What does your Wednesday hold?

  1. Aww yes! Have a delicious meal waiting for him when he arrives – the best thing ever to come home to! So happy for you that he’s on his way….I can tell you’ve missed him a lot.

  2. Beautiful pictures. It is wonderful to be able to normally be able to talk to our hubbies as they travel….makes me think about military families who can talk to their loved ones so little. I’m in awe of them. Twice my husband spent two weeks in China, when our girls were young and it was very strange to not be able to talk with him.
Glad you’re soon to be reunited. What a gift to have a mate to walk with on this journey of our lives.

  3. That’s a cute story about Papa Duck winging his way home. Gosh! Is he ever going to be tired. (Sorry, old joke.) Now I’m wondering what’s in the crockpot… I’m supposed to be buying shoes. What am I really doing? Sitting in front of the computer visiting blogs.

  4. Yes, it’s a long flight. Hopefully, he slept. Just now he’ll have Mt. Ranier is sight!
My day? Teaching three classes, fixing minestrone soup for dinner.
