Still in His Fifties…

…for yet another year. He’ll join me in the sixties next September 9th! Yes, I married a younger man and it’s been one of my best decisions in the last 38 years! Today we celebrated Dear all day. Before I share a few photos from this day I need to go back just a week to share another day of celebrating.

Last Sunday we enjoyed brunch at Palisade on Elliott Bay to celebrate Josh and Laura’s 11th anniversary.

Views from our table looking out on the marina and bay.

Besides our choices for brunch off the menu there was a brunch buffet, too.

Salads, scones, biscuits, croissants, banana bread, and muffins…

Jumbo shrimp and crab…

Banana macadamia nut pancakes made to order…

They even had a build your own Bloody Mary station…

Dear and Josh ordered the Crab Benedict and Laura and I ordered the 2 egg breakfast.

And would you believe they had a dessert bar, too. There was a lot more to choose from than what is on this next plate.

I shared this plate with Dear…

We had a wonderful time and the day was so nice in the Seattle area that when we left our table full and satisfied we strolled along the marina enjoying the water views and seeing the cruise ships docked.

See the Space Needle beyond the ships?

Father and son…

We were surprised to see the leaves changing already.

Last Sunday was a beautiful day to enjoy Seattle or any city in the Northwest.

Today the weather turned on us. The winds kicked up. The temperatures got cool. The leaves were falling and blowing around the yard. I’ll share more from Dear’s day later. Dear’s day was a work day for all of us and I still need to upload the photos…

Hope you all had a good weekend.

About Ellen am a wife, mother, baba (grandmother) and a loyal friend. Jesus is my King and my hope is in my future with Him.

  1. You robbed the cradle, eh? ☺ You make a great-looking couple as does your son and his beautiful wife. They always look very happy together.

Thanks for taking care of the foodies out here. Now I’m so hungry for breakfast…I’ll take whatever you gals had…looks delicious.

What a beautiful day you captured…the autumn colors and the beautiful sky and the great scenery.

  2. What a beautiful day, great looking food and happy couple(s)! Your pictures always make many of us want to enjoy the same places where you are!

  3. I am surprised at the fall color there too!
Not a bit surprised that you found a great place to eat though…

If I recall your daughter also married a young man. Apparently she and you both were too much for guys your own age to handle and keep up with!

  4. Beautiful photos! I’ve been surprised to see the leaves falling already here too.
Congrats on all of your happy celebrations! Anniversaries and Birthdays are great reasons to eat together.

  5. We have had such good weather lately! But it certainly cooled off yesterday. Did you have the rain we had last night?
Happy Birthday to your dear, and Happy Anniversary to your children. How wonderful to celebrate in such a beautiful city, with such delectable food and scenery. A great day all around.

  6. Happy Belated Birthday to your dear husband and Happy Belated Anniversary to the happy couple!!! Wow…what a great time you guys must have had!!! Everything looks fabulous! I would be in hog heaven to spend a couple of days seeing those sights and eating all that wonderful food…and let’s not forget making a Bloody Mary to order! Woo hoo!!!!!!! 🙂

  7. Congratulations to Josh and Laura! And to Dear as well. What a delicious brunch that is! It is wonderful to see blue skies in Seattle, and I can’t believe the trees are turning already! I guess it’s always earlier in the north than here, but it does seem early. Here they are still fully green and no sign of autumn yet….so it is great to get a preview in your photos.

  8. Congratulations to both of you! After we pass the age of about twelve, age really doesn’t matter any more.

Besides, as some wit once said, age is only important if you’re a cheese!!
