After we checked into our Inn on Tuesday we decided we had better get out on that longest beach before the weather turned on us. So for our first beach walk we walked on the sand and that was a good workout. Right behind Dear in this photo is the place where we stayed. Our room was the top middle room…no elevator so another good workout.
Looking south we could just make out the North Point Light House. I’ll share my up close and personal shots of the light houses next week.
Looking north the beach goes on forever. Well forever until it ends at the north tip of the peninsula and joins Willapa Bay.
Looking back at our Inn. We really liked the location of it so close to the beach.

Looking inland east. We were really impressed with the patriotism of the small communities along the Long Beach Peninsula and Willapa Bay.
We had just missed Kite Festival that is held every year in Long Beach. That must be quite a sight to see. There were a few kite fliers on the beach during our walk.
There was a long boardwalk that ran along the beach and a paved path for bikes and pedestrians, too. I’ll show the walks we had along these later.

I’m curious – how long is Long Beach? We stayed there overnight on a MC trip a few years back but the weather was poor and we were only on the beach for a very short time. It looks like a good place to be when the weather is nice.
Bev, I think the Peninsula is 28 miles long and Long Beach is 10 miles long.
We like the Long Beach area, too. It’s a good walking beach and cute little town. Your photos of the airborne kite are great!
Hi Ellen. It was interesting to me to see the Long Beach peninsula, as I live in Long Beach California and also, when my parents moved to Washington in 1980 they lived in Long Beach WA for a while. I’ve not yet had the pleasure of visiting there myself.
Wow, I bet Southern California people would be jealous of all that sand…except it’s probably not hot enough to enjoy the same way.
What a great place for walking! I love to stay at a hotel on the beach and listen to the waves as I go to sleep.
Nothing like walking on the beach.
So are you going to walk the entire beach? Perhaps I ought to Google. I’d not want a rescue party to be required. It looks like a fun place to vacation.
I wish I would have asked you to check out RV campgrounds there…did you notice any? The photos are beautiful and the ocean is calling me back.
