This is another regular resident at my friend Beth’s house. I was happy to have my camera in hand when it took flight.

Speaking of taking flight…my mom is being kicked out of the nest at the rehab center and headed home on Saturday. Her doctor wants her to do more moving around and to exercise her right leg more. I think my dad will be relieved to have her home again even though it means more work for him. My siblings, siblings in law, and nieces are setting up some food deliveries for my mom and dad. My mom has not been pleased with the food at the rehab center so things will start looking up come Saturday in that regard. Thanks for all your kind concern for my mom. I’m looking forward to seeing both my mom and dad in September.
Wow…that’s beautiful. Nature really is something else, isn’t it? 🙂 Good to hear your Mom is improving!
I’m curious what the bird is? I don’t know water fowl very well. So thankful Mom is doing better and going home.
I’m pretty sure this is a Blue Heron, Jody.
Those are huge wings. It took my mother in law almost 5 weeks before they let her go home from rehab. YAY for your mom…home is always good for the soul.
Bird shots are great! Wonderful that your mom is going home and there are so many loved ones close by to care for her and your dad. I bet they will eat really good!! 🙂
Beautiful pictures. Wonderful news about your Mom. I didn’t realize you hadn’t gone to CA yet….
Lucky you! Great shots. Fortunately I wasn’t there to jinx the presence of the birds. 🙂
I really love Herons – thank you for the wonderful images – you captured him so well!
And great news of your Mom being able to return home. God bless your parents.
So glad that your mom is getting sprung! I’m sure that being home will mean more exercise as she will begin to putter about again and the food has got to be better!
Anyone who captures a bird in flight has my admiration…wonderful shots.
Very good News about your mom! It looks like she is in good hands. Of course, have to smile about her opinion on the food. She probably almost can’t wait to make some real food.
We see these grand birds often at our house. They fish in our creek, land on a wire over the creek (a very funny sight!) and have often surprised us by flying low close to the house.
I love watching them – so regal and deliberate on land and so majestic in the air.
So glad with all of you that your dear mom can go home – I know that’s where her heart is and I’m sure her recovery will be quick now that she’s back where she wants to be.
This is a giant bird ..almost prehistoric looking.
That is such good news about your Mom! I’m sure she will be encouraged to be up and around more at home and enjoy home cooked meals.
Lovely photos!!
Thanks for the update on your sweet mom.
