…We were in Southern California having a bridal shower for Katie. It seems like ages ago.
I talked to my mom today and she is still experiencing lots of pain so will you please continue to pray for her and my dad. They were both crying which is hard to take over the phone and being 1200 miles away. I know she’ll get better but these are hard days to bear before the better days come.

My sister took this photo this evening and she reports that my mom is feeling a lot better since I talked to her this morning. I’m so happy to see this. Thank you Lana. My mom is learning to manage her pain.
A bizarre storm swept through Nuevo, Ca. and the surrounding area with tornado like effects on Sunday. My brother’s family lives there and they have been cleaning up. On one street a dozen power poles came down like dominoes. They had to work hard to keep mud from coming into their home. Yikes, now they are getting severe weather warnings again. So far there are no injuries that we’ve heard of. Needless to say there are power issues and with temps over a 100 that is not a good scenario…
Our refrigerator is getting repaired today sometime…remember our light issue that caused the light housing to melt. It’s after 4:30 and we’re still waiting. Did you ever read Waiting for Godot in your school years? Hopefully we aren’t waiting for Godot.
We are still having summer here in the Northwest and that has been nice. I’m going to have to water!!
Ohhh, how sad, and hard, to hear your parents crying on the phone. I will continue pray for them.
Did the fridge man ever come?
I’ll pray for your parents. Dear people whose smiles are so beautiful here, I can’t imagine them in tears.
Oh I know how hard it must be to hear their crying when you’re so far away. I hadn’t heard about the Nuevo storm. I’ll check on the weather there.
Your heart must be aching for your Mom & Dad! Praying that God relieves her pain soon. Plus sorry to hear about Nuevo and Steve & Kelly!
Yes, it is hard being away when those you love are hurting. I will continue to pray for her comfort. Glad your brother was protected. We had some storms here over the weekend… a tree fell on the house next door. No one lives there, so that was a blessing. With rain three days in a row, we are getting a little reprieve from watering…thank goodness!
It has got to be terribly difficult being that far away…
Hope that the weather settles down in your brother’s community. That sounds nasty.
May you get some rain so you won’t have to water. Our three days of rain was very
welcome and I appreciated not having to water.
What a summer! I am SO sorry! They say that God never gives us more than we can handle, so I’m thinking you’ve got a pretty strong constitution in the good Lord’s eyes! It just broke my heart to hear of your parents’ tears. That just makes me so, so sad. I really do hope they are feeling much, much better soon. I didn’t hear about the storms in California. I need to turn on the news. I haven’t watched any TV since Saturday. Your family remains in my prayers.
Love the smile on your mom’s face. Getting on top of the pain can be tricky at first…praying she continues to find the way back up to her feet with less pain. Such gentle souls….Be their strength God, be all they need.” I’m so thankful they know the One who carries them through when they come to the end of themselves. Crazy times for your brother. Perhaps they need to share some rain with us and avoid any messes. CRAZY weather. Praying they stay safe and cool!
Your mom’s smile is encouraging. I hope you get to see lots of those soon.
She looks like she feels better…I now that made you feel better!
Praying for your mom Ellen, I’m glad to hear her pain is becoming manageable. Wow – that must have been quite the storm.
Oh my heart goes out to your Mom!
Has it really been a year? Wow, that has gone fast!
I am praying for your Mother, Ellen. God bless her and ease her pain.
It is hard to believe katie’s shower was a year ago! Time flies!
Hope things are looking better for your mom by now. It’s not easy…watching them suffer!
