Because You Asked…

Here’s what I bought while avoiding the noise at home from the roofers!

The lavender goblets and small green goblets were purchased at an Antique mall in Edmonds. I paid $40.00 for the lavender goblets and $7.50 for the little green ones. I paid more than I usually am willing to pay for goblets but I found that it’s not that easy to find this color out there.

The small green bowls and the purple dessert plates are from Crate and Barrel. The napkin rings are from my stash.

The dinner plates 4 of each kind were purchased at Goodwill.

These napkins are April Cornell and they were purchased at Goodwill.

These dessert plates were purchased at an Antique mall in Snohomish.

I was on a specific search to find lavender and green but I couldn’t pass up some other good buys…

As soon as my schedule permits I’ll be working on a table setting using my latest finds and mixing them with things I have on hand.

I’m linking up with Kathleen at Cuisine Kathleen for Let’s Dish. This event starts on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 P.M. (Eastern Time)

  1. I have to admit I’ve never seen lavender goblets. They are beautiful! I especially love those last dishes with the delicate purple flowers. So pretty.

  2. Love it! I get totally “lost” antiquing – it’s one of my favourite things to do. I’ve been collecting green depression glass which goes nicely with my “old country roses” dinner set. Can’t wait to see your table setting creation. Hope the roofing is going smoothly ………

  3. i’m in love with your great finds….so pretty. I think I’ll invite myself to dinner at your place and request that the table be done in just those colours:)

  4. admit it or not, Ellen . . . those adorable violets on that gorgeous china ~~ is the Persian in you coming out! LOL and that’s a good thing! my mother had violets on her wedding china . . . and the aunties always had a little violet embroidery here and there!

    • Nadia, I wasn’t aware that violets were associated with our Persian roots at all. Good to know. I love the Persian influences we enjoyed before and after our parents immigrated.

  5. This will make a beautiful setting!! I am totally in love with that lavender stemware!!
Thank You for sharing and have a wonderful weekend!

  6. Sure….that’s as good an excuse as any: “…while avoiding the noise at home from the roofers.” Uh huh…sure. Whatever! 🙂 GREAT design on both sets of goblets, and I love the colors!!! Absolutely love the Crate & Barrel bowls, too, and your Goodwill finds are fantastic! You have the makings for a really fabulous tablescape there!!! Would you like for us to petition the roofers to prolong their work another week or two so that you can “avoid the noise” some more? 🙂 Seriously…hope the noise lets up soon. I know how invasive and annoying it can be! Have a great week!

  7. The lavender vintage goblets are beautiful! And now, Dear is going to have to build another china cabinet 🙂

    • Funny you should mention that because that’s exactly what Dear said when I said I was on the hunt for lavender and green!

  8. Oh my gosh, Ellen, you were right! I love the lavender goblets, well, actually, I love it all, the luncheon plates are exquisite. I’ve always loved lavender and green together. Beautiful treasures you’ve got there. By the way, my last name is Beeton, so I am also Ellen B. What do you think of that!

  9. Aren’t you glad those roofers were making so much noise? Those goblets were waiting for you! I love the dishes with the violets and the purple and green combo is beautiful! Linda

  10. Such luck in finding the purple goblets! My daughter has the same ones and I look for them all of the time and I am not willing to pay some of the prices asked for them. You got them for a very good price. I cannot wait to see your table, when it is done. The green and purple combination was my obsession, when I was in middle school and I still love it!

  11. OHHH! Those glasses are wonderful, what a color! I love all your purchases and this is shaping up to be a great scape. I can’t wait to see it. Hey, the guys are cutting the lawn and it is noisy, does that mean I can go shopping? 🙂
Thanks for linking up to Let’s Dish! Have a blessed weekend, too.

  12. Your finds blow me away..They are beautiful and you totally insired me by the your finds and thanks for your help yesterday. I too will have some fun time looking for things that might just be perfect for the perfect event. I’m thinking I will need to ask you to share some of your finds for my event.

  13. I love how your new purchases fit in so well with the things you have. The colors are wonderful and I am sure you will find a lot of uses for both sets. Lavender really is a color that is hard to find.

  14. Everything is so beautiful together…love the dessert plates and purple stems. I remember trying to find things in purples…almost impossible. Every now and then I run across purple pieces that just seem to jump into my cart!

  15. I have NO pruple in my loot, but think that is about to change. You really found some great items, our goodwill is getting a little pricey………but I do find a few good things some time. Can’t wait to see your table scape with all your treasures.
