Spotting Spring in Seattle…

We had a glorious sunny weekend in the Seattle area. On Friday my son, DIL, and I stopped at Kerry Park on the way to the Sounders Soccer game to enjoy the views of Seattle with Flat Stanley. Have you had Flat Stanley visit you? Flat Stanley was very happy that the Sounders beat Houston 2-0!

On Friday morning I walked with a friend on the Sammamish River Trail for the first time this Spring.

We saw some lovely signs of Spring.

On Saturday I drove North to Blaine which is on the U.S/Canadian Border for a Mennonite Girl Can Cook event at the Blaine Library. After our time at the library we enjoyed a nice lunch at the Blackberry Cafe in Blaine. I was thankful for a nice sunny day for the drive.

Since the sun was shining again on Sunday I mowed the lawn for the first time since November. It was a great workout. Are you enjoying any signs of Spring in your neck of the woods?

I’m linking up with Mary at Little Red House for Mosaic Monday.

  1. Flowers! I see some. And robins are almost as good as flowers. Blue skies…hope that the weather is cooperating a bit more with the entire idea of spring. (No, Flat Stanley has not visited me, though The Flat Princess has.)

  2. Lovely signs of spring. The flowers are gorgeous and I love the robins and the other birds. You saw beautiful scenery during your walk. I am not sure what Flat Stanley is? Is it a person?

    • Flat Stanley is a cut out of a boy that school kids have been sending around the country as a project to see him in different parts of the country.

  3. What signs of spring in our area??? Oh, yes, another snow covering, then slush, and now the annual potholes are making their debut! So glad you had such beauty to behold!

  4. Lovely signs of spring, especially those pink blossoms. And the robin. And the blue sky. All so very welcome after the gray weather. I’m hoping it continues.

  5. Ah yes, Flat Stanley. Where is he headed next?

Spring is so very welcome in the Northwest after all the snow and rain you’ve had. Spring here? You sent us your rain over the weekend–so no spring garden planting yet.

    • I think Flat Stanley is headed back to Louisiana from Seattle…
Your welcome for that rain we sent you…now your garden will bloom better :0)

  6. Love those first signs of spring…in Seattle and right here off ‘my front porch’! And I so enjoyed our springtime lunch at the Blackberry Cafe. Let’s meet there again one day!

  7. I enjoyed our drive to the library on Saturday too….it was so peaceful and beautiful. Spring is in the air and the buds are beginning to tease us.

  8. Signs of spring here? Yes…flowering trees and bulbs ablooming everywhere this weekend…and then there is hail and wind and sleet this morning. OUch for all the daffodils!
Your library visit looked like a lot of fun!

  9. I enjoyed following the events of your week, and how wonderful to see the sun shine..What else can we say..What day did you say you cut your lawn???

  10. You sure are getting spring alright. While I thought we’d get an early one too, but now turns out to be snowy and cool. Your Seattle photo collage is just marvellous!
