Give Me Oil in My Lamp ~ Hymn

Give Me Oil in My Lamp Keep Me Burning

Give me oil in my lamp keep me burning
Give me oil in my lamp, I pray,
Give my oil in my lamp, keep me burning,
Keep me burning ’till the end of day.

Sing hosanna, sing hosanna,
Sing hosanna to the King of kings!
Sing hosanna, sing hosanna,
Sing hosanna to the King!

Give me peace in my heart, keep me resting,
Give me peace in my heart, I pray.
Give me peace in my heart, keep me resting,
Keep me resting ’till the end of day.

Sing hosanna, sing hosanna,
Sing hosanna to the King of kings!
Sing hosanna, sing hosanna,
Sing hosanna to the King!

Praying that God will fill us all today with His peace, love, and joy as we celebrate the wedding ceremony for Andrew and Katie.

OOps, sorry, I just got carried away!

What a great song for a group of folks who need to keep their energies high! Now this one, I know. ;>

Yes, many blessings on the wedding, may it bless all who attend and participate. And may God richly bless the happy couple!

  3. I woke up thinking about you all when I remembered it was Sunday! Praying it is such a wondrous celebration of love, all that God has poured out in your family! Praying His favor and blessings upon Andrew and Katie! CELEBRATE JOY!

  4. This takes me back to Sunday School days when I was about 7 or 8 years old! Made me smile….all those “lost” years in between 8 and 23 have now been redeemed many times over with His light and peace. Amen!

  7. Just checking in. I gather your lamps burned brightly into the night… and now you are saying your goodbyes. I’ll check back later or tomorrow. Was so happy to hear you had a beautiful day!

  8. I’d never heard the second verse but I like it a lot! I’m sure you were singing it often the past few days.
For those who weren’t there – the wedding was marvelous – a wonderful celebration of two who are very much in love!

  9. Haven’t thought of that song for maybe 30 years! I’m sure you are worn out from all of the wedding festivities. When you’re ready, we’re excited to see the pictures!
