Celebrating our Sons…

January 16th is our son Dan’s birthday. We weren’t able to be together for his birthday last year so it was great to be together to celebrate this year.

We are so thankful to God for our sons and that includes our new son-in-law. We celebrated them all tonight at dinner in Seattle. The snow didn’t hinder our journey to the restaurant in Pioneer Square and we had a wonderful time.

Joshua’s birthday is coming up on Thursday. We were also celebrating Andrew’s safe return from Afghanistan.

All the kids with dad!

All the kids with mom!

Interesting times in the Puget Sound Area this week. They are predicting a snowstorm on Wednesday that will stop us all in our tracks. Time will tell. Needless to say people will be swamping the stores on Tuesday to stock up on food, batteries and some will be looking for generators. They love to put the fear of the storm in us.

How are things where you are?

  1. Looks like a wonderful celebration. Happy Birthday to your son (s). I love how the news goes to all weather before a flake has touched the ground. We had no snow down here in Sumner today but my daughter had about three inches up in Kirkland. Sounds like we might be in for a interesting week! be safe out there.

  2. Look at all those happy smiles! I’m so glad you got to be together before The Big Storm hits. Down here, we must be experiencing some residual with cooler temps and clouds that threaten to rain.

  3. How fun to have them all home…under your roof…come what may! If the huge snow storm arrives…they may be there for awhile. It looks like you had a celebration to remember…for sure.

Happy Birthday to your boys…especially Josh, who shares my day!

  4. I LOVED seeing these pictures….your family together. How precious is the time we have to laugh and love together. We got a DUMPING rain storm tonight for about 15 minutes, the snow all going well north of KC. I hope your snow is just another pretty little bit…not something worse, although sometimes I have liked when the world is shut down and we’re all tucked into our homes in peace, riding out a storm. Peace to you Ellen!

  5. Lovely family photos! Happy Birthday, Dan!

I’ve been reading about the snow storm coming up–can’t you get your snow delivered in smaller loads throughout the season, rather than in a short week’s period?

We’re being told that it’s going to rain this weekend…

  6. The fear of the storm must be a universal truth. Do you also have the weather being reported over spooky music? Ugh. Hope that Wednesday proves to be a cozy day. Perhaps some baking…I have molasses cookie recipes in case you’ve not noticed. Ha!

Oh what great photos of the family. I was dismayed there just for a second to think that you were another invisible woman, though it didn’t last long. Now if you could just have had the waiter/waitress take a photo of you all.

The food looks delicious. I’m going back to take a closer look.

  7. Fun celebrations with your family! Felt like I was there with you! Cold here today. Got down to 28 or so. Tomorrow it is supposed to start raining and rain for several days. That is a good thing and it has been very dry. We really need it to rain.

  9. Happy birthday to Dan and Josh. How fun for you all to be together to celebrate. Loved seeing your family photos. I love how you celebrate around such amazing food! You know how to do it right.

  10. Everyone looks so happy! Aren’t you glad that they all like to come home. I consider that to be one of my biggest blessings. Chilly and rainy here tonight.Predicting mid 20’s tomorrow night!
