It’s time for the letter G and time for me to remind myself not to be grumpy and not to grumble. Head on over to Miss Jenny’s to join in with Alphabe-Thursday.
John 6:43 ~ ”Stop grumbling among yourselves,” Jesus answered.
I Corinthians 10:10 ~ “And do not grumble, as some of them did – and were killed by the destroying angel.”
James 5:9 ~ “Don’t grumble against each other brothers, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door.”
I Peter 4:9 ~ “Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.”
Maybe I’ll think ahead to next week and the letter H and be inspired by another Dwarf…Happy! Since we are still on G this week I’m going to concentrate on being grateful instead of grumpy.
Great post….this alphabet thingy might be a good one to do with the focus on things like this. Well done.
G is for grateful…and I’m sticking to it! Thanks for th reminder this morning. G is also for get-up-an-go, and we got-up-and-went to the city…for a change of pace. Have a great day!
Grumble ! what a nice word. First thing which came in my mind was Mr. G’s grumblings ! lol !
I am guilty of grumbling and I should change will try to be more grateful and gracious
I’m not much of a grumbler actually. It would be better if I were. A grumbler has those low tones all rumbly and masculine. Shriek would fit better for me. Ackkkkkkk! See, told ya!
Great reminders for us all!
I love that picture of Grumpy! Great post, most of us do need to be more grateful & less grumpy for sure:-)
🙂
That was cute. We’re all grumpy sometimes, but not for long, I’m sure!
visiting from jenny’s!
I need to remember not to do this too.
Murmur, mutter, roar and rumble
carp, complain, and moan and whine,
None of these will help our spirit!
To be joyful, just hold still – let God refine!
So, my heart learn to be grateful,
thankful, pleasant and content
for He does withhold what we deserve,
has instead amazing grace and mercy sent!
See, your post made me write that little ditty! Great reminder!!
I think grumpy is cute…so long as I’m not wearing it on my face…heehee. Grumpy and grateful are mutually exclusive…they can’t coexist. 🙂
Oh Vee….funny comment.
I love your Grumpy! It would be so great if Grumpy people would always be that cute.
Oh what a sweet post…and Grumpy actually looks quite lovable!
Love the Grumpy figurine! Looks like it is a Jim Shore design. I try not to be grumpy as well. I actually have a cousin who got laid/fired for being too grumpy! He is okay with it though. But it would be a lesson to learn to not be grumpy on the job!

Grateful is definitely better than grumpy. The bad thing about being grumpy is that it makes you feel even grumpier!
We all can use that encouragement!
Some times I so feel like grumpiness walking. The verses you mentioned are good for my heart. I don’t want grumbling to be what resonates from me, but gratefulness (as others have said) and hospitality. Great post.
What a cute Grumpy figure.
I can relate. Feeling a little grump today myself. I liked the verses you shared, though.
Thanks for a great link to the letter G.
