Love Watching…

…my little visitors and other randomness.

We are being threatened with flooding rains today. We’ll see what happens.

Today I’m getting my temporary crown replaced with my permanent one.  I’ve been encouraged that this will be nothing like my last appointment so I’m optimistic. While I’m out I’ll take care of getting what I need for my contribution for the Thanksgiving gathering we are having on Thursday at the home of dear friends. Our son Dan made it home from our family Thanksgiving time to 14 inches of snow at his home.

How are your Thanksgiving plans shaping up?

  1. Today we celebrate our oldest daughters birthday….we’re going to the city to her favorite Bar-b-que for Lamb ribs. Then family starts arriving tomorrow for our family Thanksgiving. Tomorrow night is Christmas in the Sky…a huge fireworks show at a local lake in Kansas City set to Christmas music. I’ll be cooking the turkey, mashed potatoes and raspberry pretzel salad tomorrow to get a jump on thursday’s cooking. Then after celebrating Thanksgiving with family we will decorate the house for Christmas on Friday and end the family time with dinner at Lydia’s on Saturday night and a drive through the Country Club Plaza which gets its Christmas lighting turned on Thursday night. Then I might sleep most of Sunday…… (c: As we celebrate this Thanksgiving season I am so very grateful that God directed my steps to your blog. I don’t even recall how long ago I found you but in a dark season of life your blog was filled with beauty and God used you as He pulled me up. Thank you dear Ellen!

    • Pam, It sounds like some wonderful times and memories will be made at your place this Thanksgiving weekend.
I’m glad God used me in a dark time in your life. You are very gracious in your encouragement to me. Thank you. Blessings on your new season and may God keep you in his marvelous light!

  2. Oh what pictures! Hope that the birds get their fill before the rains come. Dan had a surprise waiting for him. We’ll be getting 10 to 14 inches of the white stuff beginning tonight and I feel so bad for Thanksgiving travelers. I know that all will go well at the dentist’s. I do remember your awful time of it last time. So glad that this time will be soooo much better.

  3. Such a pretty shot!
We are having torrential rain up here and the ponds are ready to overflow downhill (as they’re meant to!)

  4. Aren’t the little birds lovely? They make so happy just to watch them at the feeders! Hope the rain leaves no damage – we’re preparing for the first real “shovelable” snow tomorrow. (The weatherman’s description 🙂

    Stay cosy!

  5. Well, I didn’t quite get everything done in my to and fro day but tomorrow is about the cooking so any more to and fro will have to wait till next week. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

  6. Such pretty little birds! I got a new slr camera for my birthday this week, and am looking forward to having the means to get really nice pics of the birds in our yard. This Thanksgiving will be spent with my hubby’s brother and family, followed by a whirlwind trip to Portland to spend the rest of the weekend with my son and my daughter. Hoping to get downtown Portland at night to see all of the pretty Christmas displays!
