Y oh Y is for Yarrow Bay…

Time for Alphabe-Thursday with our great “teach” Jenny. We are on the letter Y. I happened to be at Yarrow Bay in Kirkland last week killing enjoying time while my daughter was at an appointment. Thankfully I had my camera with me and it wasn’t raining…

Yarrow Bay and Yellow Kayaks. Two for the price of one!

I even managed a shot of daughter after her appointment. Our daughter is going to be moving away across the country to North Carolina soon. Every now and then we look at her and moan a quote from My Big Fat Greek WeddingWhy Y you want to leave me???

Any of you have kids that have moved far far away from you? I’ll be around soon to see your Y’s!!

  1. We have only one son and one daughter living here in Tucson. The rest of the kids are in Atlanta, New Orleans, Tennessee, and Kentucky!

Your photos are wonderful! It looks very cool there! Wish it was cool here!!

  2. Beautiful photos! Yes, our son lived for many years of studies in PA while we live in AB Canada. He has now moved here to join his oldest sis and us here. Our middle daughter lives 10 hour drive north of us – near the North West Territories. We’re leaving tomorrow to visit for a week! YEAH!

  3. I have so many friends with kids all over the country and quite a few with kids overseas. I DON’T KNOW HOW THEY DO IT although I know that the internet has opened up being connected. I am SO SPOILED with our girls 35 miles away. SPOILED I TELL YOU!

  4. Beautiful pictures! Love those lily pads too! Yes, my kids live far away. One in Illinois and one in Florida. They are coming here for Thanksgiving and I am so looking forward to it!

  5. I love the yellow kayaks. I would be so happy to take off in one of those and explore the bay.

UK is not so big, so my eldest (away at University) is only 170 miles from home. I still miss him, but he’s having a whale of a time and I’m very happy for him. (Plus, at that kind of distance, visits are possible 🙂 )

  6. Your pic with the yellow kayaks and the lilly pads is a great as well as an unusual combination!
You really do get used to the distance -my 2 daughters are 7 hrs. North, and my son is in another country (it was China, but in a month it’s the Netherlands). I want them to be happy, and traveling is in our blood, it seems, lol!

  7. No, thankfully none of my children have moved far away. I have had a Boston niece and now a New York niece who is far enough way for me. I can’t imagine what that would be like, but I am sure that she will wend her way closer to home when she is able. Where does her hubby call him when he’s not in the service?

Lovely photos of Yarrow Bay. You’re very clever with this alphabet thing.

  8. Yes – our daughter and her family in Saskatchewan and son and family near you in Seattle. \
You will miss Katie, I’m sure!!
Love the “Y” post -Yarrow Bay, yellow and don’t forget Yachts!

  9. So far, I am blessed to have my children live near me, but I think my youngest daughter has itchy feet!

Loved the tour of Yarrow Bay! Especially liked the pictures of boats and blooms!

  10. Big hugs, Ellen! Our son and his family in Ontario – a six hour flight or a VERY long drive! I’ve just had the very bad news that they can’t come home for Christmas – very hard to receive.

  11. Oh no! I should be saying, “It’s no big deal when they move…blah, blah, blah!” but it is. A big deal!

Your daughter is gorgeous. She looks so sweet, too.

It will be fun for you to go visit her…

And hopefully you will see some places together that are as lovely as the photos you shared with us today!

Empty Nester hugs and an A+
