FFF ~ The Royal Treatment!

Since Friday is the big day my Friday’s Fave Five are all about the Royal Wedding! I know some people are yawning or even mocking the event but I choose to embrace it with hopes and prayers that things will go differently for this young couple and that their marriage will last as long as Queen Elizabeth’s reign. She’s been around a long time people! Make sure and bop over to Susanne’s at Living to Tell the Story to join in the fun of Friday’s Fave Five.

Because you would have to be Sherlock Holmes to figure out my five I’ll spell them out for you before you scroll down. 1. Queen Mary Tearoom 2. Tea 3. Rings 4. Pasty 5. Royal Weddings

On Wednesday after booking Katie and Andrew’s wedding venue we decided to have tea at the Queen Mary Tea Room to get in the mood for the upcoming wedding of William and Kate.

The Tea Room is getting ready for the big event and is hosting a viewing party from 1:00 A.M. till 4:00 A.M. They have a special Royal Romance Tea for the occasion and a signature bubbly.

Katie wore her Princess Di ring. Well it’s not really a Princess Di ring but it is very similar and it’s fun to see Princess Di’s ring on Kate Middleton’s finger. Our Katie got her ring several years ago passed down from her Aunt Lana.

We enjoyed Cornish Pasties with salad and a very lovely carrot ginger soup with coconut.

Of course there were souvenirs that you could purchase commemorating the Royal event.

I was tempted to get this mug to commemorate my Royal event this year!

I hope your week was a calm one instead of one filled with panic!

Are you going to watch Prince William and Kate’s wedding? We just gathered up a few of our British souvenirs and set them out for the wedding day. We even included the Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The Beanie Baby is the Princess Di Bear called Princess.

Photobucket replaced all my photos with blurred out versions and they are holding my photos hostage until I pay them lots of money. I’m slowly going through all my posts and trying to clean them up and replacing some photos. Such a bother.

  1. So much fun! Watching the preparations right now and so many people simply going over the top in this once in a life-time event! I’ll be in slumberland, but don’t mind just catching the highlights! Enjoy!

  2. You and Katie are having such fun together. Love her ring. We are looking forward to the wedding. My daughter, granddaughter and I will be watching it together.

  3. Your Tearoom looks like a fun and tasty place to visit. No way staying up to watch a wedding of folks I don’t know…and we gave our “nod” to it by me serving tea and Digestives (with Nutella) at Knit Night tonight.

  4. So much FUN! Raising my cup of tea and scone to you, Ellen as I tune into the early Royal Wedding festivities on TV…It’s 10am here… the ceremony is soon… So EXCITING! :o) Happy Days ((HUGS)

  5. You are not the only one, I am busy to watch the Royal wedding and from time to time I look through my comments, lol

have a look on my FFF, I have a funny video of the wedding there !

  6. Love the tea cups, and the pasty looks delish!

My friend got flooded out of her home, and when I asked what I could do for her, her reply was, “Tape the Royal Wedding for me!”

So, you are not alone in having the wedding be a favorite!

  7. What a fun post! I enjoyed it! I woke up at 2AM and watched the festivities. I had set the DVR and didn’t intend to watch it live but I did.

I think the British must have a Ministry of Silly Hats!

  8. What fun you had !!! loved all the pics! Nope…I love my sleep so didn’t set my alarm for the insane hour of 4 a.m. to watch people I don’t know walk down an aisle…lol..but I plan on watching the 20/20 show tonite 🙂

  9. What a fun day to spend! The pictures are fantastic, and I can tell you had a great time. What a beautiful young lady your daughter is!

My father was born in England and came to America on the Queen Mary. His mother stayed very enamored with the Royal family.. I think of her whenever the Royals are in the news. Oh, she would have loved this wedding. It was beautiful.

  10. Royal Treatment, indeed!
Wishing you joy and all good things as you plan for your daughters upcoming wedding. Now you have many good ideas from the Royal Wedding!

  11. I, too, am embracing the Royal Wedding as something beautiful and hopefu. that we can enjoy and celebrate. One of my friends dvr’d the event and we got together today at her house for a viewing and a lovely luncheon. We all need more days like this!

  12. Now I understand why purple seems to be the popular colour this year! Of course, the Royal Wedding. Thanks for all the wonderful photos, Ellen!

  13. Dear Ellen

We went to school together! David and Vera were in my class, the class of 66.
Your Web Site keeps popping up when I do Montebello searches, this time it popped up
when I entered “The Happy Wonder” I guess that’s the name of your Site. I have seen it
before about a a half year ago and posted a comment. I can see your a religious person,
and I like your Web Site because it’s full of love. (an identifying mark if a true Christian)
I enjoy viewing your pictures, they reflect beauty, family, and love… very refreshing. I can
also tell it’s a passion of yours, because you put so much work into it.
It’s a PITY I don’t remember you when we were in school together, but I do remember
    Vera a little.
Have you seen our School Web Site yet? If not, you really need to check it out! It’s called
    classreport.org ( http://www.classreport.org/usa/ca/montebello/mhs/ ) I work with the
School Coordinator ( David Romero ) on the Site and am also the Class Assistant on the
    66 Class Site.

I’m glad your Site popped up again, I enjoy viewing it.
    Your fellow classmate
