Ruffles & Rust

A post with few words but lots of photos…mostly of hats for Jill.

When you shop with the younger set this is a typical scene.

Then phone in one hand while you shop with the other. If someone took a photo of me they’d see a camera in one hand while I shop with the other.

We had a fun morning with a nice breakfast after the show in Monroe. We all decided we’d rather visit these stores individually than navigate the crowds in small spaces at the show.

Brrr…we’re getting some cold weather and a threat of snow. I’m out in the cold this morning delivering Frost Doughnuts to Dear’s Office downtown. I think I might need a nap later this morning. Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone!

Photobucket replaced all my photos with ugly black and grey boxes and they are holding my photos hostage until I pay them lots of money. I’m slowly going through all my posts and trying to clean them up and replacing some photos. Such a bother.

  1. Will you wear a hat for your daughter’s wedding? I did, for our son’s – it was an afternoon wedding. There’s nothing more glamorous than a hat!
It looks like you had a fun day together, but I’m with you about the crowds.

  2. I would definitely want to visit the shop that showed the wonderful vintage hats. A rope tied around my ankle might be required to drag me out after a couple of days though.

Totally mystified by Rosemary’s comment. What ever did she mean “wish we still wore hats”?
We (the royal collective type “we”) still do wear hats, the same way we still wear shoes and carry purses. And if the age spots on our hands get any worse, we will be wearing gloves on all occasions as well!

Ellen, thank you for being my eyes and feet for this event. Maybe when I get up your way we can toddler over for another look at some of those hat shops!

  3. Ellen, What a fun day with your daughter. Makes me long for a similar opportunity with my girl. I’d love to have been there checking out all the hats and the other fun stuff.
Jill – I love hats too but don’t wear them nearly often enough. good for you that you do!

  4. What an interesting name for a sale. It looks a bit overwhelming to me. Sometimes my brain is screaming…”TOO MUCH”. It’s so silly sometimes. But you got to have a fun girls day!
