Wednesday’s Child is Full of Woe?

I was born on a Wednesday and this is just not true about me.  One evening this week we were talking about what day of the week we were born on and the old rhyme…

Mondays child is fair of face,
Tuesdays child is full of grace,
Wednesdays child is full of woe,
Thursdays child has far to go,
Fridays child is loving and giving,
Saturdays child works hard for his living,
And the child that is born on the Sabbath day
Is bonny and blithe, and good and gay.

Well come to find out Dear was born on a Wednesday, too. All three of our children were born on Friday. Our daughter in law was born on a Sunday. Our future SIL was born on a Wednesday. So what day of the week were you born on?

We are getting some dry days with sun peeking out here and there. We hope to take advantage of the dryness to get some outside work done. On Tuesday I pruned the pear tree. We’re hoping to prune the apple tree and get the flag pole installed before the weekend is over. I have 3 different flags for my flag pole. I hope to be able to show them to you soon.

Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!

  1. I’m a Tuesday girl. Trimming trees and knowing where your ground is to plant a flag pole….ahhh, the wonders we have to look forward to….sometime. And you certainly should not buy into the words of men…you are filled with such grace and beauty….pure joy to me to come peek into your world.

  2. I am a Sunday child, but let me assure you I am never always good and gay! You on the other hand, also exudes such grace and beauty. You motivate me in becoming a more gracious person.

  3. Hi Ellen! I’m a Wednesday baby, too! And I just want to stop by to say thanks for your comments to my posts at Ivory Spring a couple weeks back. I’ve heard about you from Wendy, so it’s neat to actually connect with you now. I was most amused at your confession of never having made a quilt! : ) Пока!

  4. Funny, I don’t remember what day of the week I was born… =)
I’ll have to look that up.
I think I now what one of those flags on your flagpole will be.

  5. I’m a Wednesday child as well which I always thought rather interesting considering what a difficult childhood I had and that I still struggle with depression. So I guess it fits me at least a bit — and we don’t get rid of some of this snow and ice I’m going to be into some serious woe!! 🙂
