Dear’s Great, great Aunt collected postcards. These are some of her Christmas cards. I really enjoy Christmas Greetings. My goal last week was to get our cards out and get the house dusted and ready for Christmas decorations. On Friday my goals were completed and my cards made it to the post office. Ahhh…that feels good. By Sunday night all the decorations that I’m going to put out are out and the tree is decorated in a minimal way. Some years are like that. This weekend we are celebrating our anniversary with an overnight to Whidbey Island and I didn’t want these kinds of things to be weighing on my relaxation.
This morning I have a breakfast casserole in the oven that I will be taking to our Women’s Bible Study Christmas celebration. I’m hoping that the tables will be decorated and that I can share some nice ones with you.
Today is the day the U.S.A. was attacked at Pearl Harbor. A good reminder to thank God for those in the military and to pray that God will protect them and bring them home safe. Also that God will comfort those who have lost their loved ones in battle this year.
Hope wherever you are and whatever you are doing you have time to relax and savor this new day…
Photobucket replaced all my photos with ugly black and grey boxes and they are holding my photos hostage until I pay them lots of money. I’m slowly going through all my posts and trying to clean them up and replacing some photos. Such a bother.
Love those old postcards! Have a wonderful morning with the ladies.
Ellen ..your postcards are beautiful. .I love them. I hope you have a fantastic time with your ladies Bible Study today. .I hope those tables are all festive and blog worthy.
Those postcards are lovely. Do you display them as part of your decorations?
You get some much done, Ellen – you are one organized woman!
Those cards remind me of my grandmother.
What a treasure these vintage cards are!
What a good feeling to have made your goals. I really want to get my Christmas cards finished up.

The girl with the hat and LONG feather is millinery inspiring to me! Christmas letter writing is still hanging over my head. Glad you got yours done and can romp through the rest of the season with joy.
I thought about it being Pearl Harbor day today as well . My day has had a few minor “bombs” that have made me rather crabby, but like your, I am truly thankful for our military that works so hard to keep us safe. Never forget…never forget that awful day in history.
Hmmm – I thought Jill would like that hat 🙂 Lovely old-fashioned cards!
A belated, but heart-felt, wish for a very Happy Anniversary!! Hope you have a wonderful overnight to Whidbey Island.
I have enjoyed reading your blog. I love the cards too.
Happy anniversary to you and hubby.
I have a few Christmas decorations up but need to get outside and put up some lights too. I also live in the Pacific Northwest, Bellingham. We had had some cold days and now rain. Hope to get at it before the weekend.
Very charming….these old-fashioned Christmas greeting cards are wonderful. I love the artwork!
