It’s Friday again and time for Friday’s Fave Five. Look back over your week and choose some favorites you’d like to share. Join us at Susanne’s Living to Tell the Story to share your five.
This week is a week of looking forward for me. Looking forward to next week when our middle son is finally back in our home state of Washington. Looking forward to having an early Thanksgiving meal together.Β But I’ll pause and think back and share my favorite quotes from this past week.
1. From Gumbo Lily’s blog ~
Earth is crammed with Heaven
and every bush aflame with God.
But only those who see
take off their shoes.
~Elizabeth Barrett Browning
2. From my brother and SIL on Facebook ~
“How much greater is the God we have than the one we think we have” -Father Gregory Boyle
3. From Mighty Mom’s Blog ~
“You can get glad in the same shoes you got mad in.”
4. From our sermon on Sunday at Westminster Chapel in Bellevue, Washington.
“Your dreams should be bigger then your memories”
5. My fifth favorite is not a quote. Hip Hip Hooray the elections are over and my phone has stopped ringing off the hook looking for support of such and such candidate!!
I hope to come around soon and see what your favorites were this past week. Blessings…
Photobucket replaced all my photos with ugly black and grey boxes and they are holding my photos hostage until I pay them lots of money. Iβm slowly going through all my posts and trying to clean them up and replacing some photos. Such a bother.
Hip hip Hurray, indeed on #5!
I know how happy you are to have #2 son back in his home state.
Have a happy weekend, Ellen!
Your heart must be so happy to have your son closer to you soon!
I especially like the first two quotes…. along with your fall photos…
glad wit you that your son is coming home… Thanksgiving is great whenever the family is together.
I love the poem by EB Browning, Ellen. And your photos, it sure is wonderful seeing leaves on tress, while those in my area are all bare. Your Autumn walk is beautiful too… Thanks!
Love that…’you can be glad in the same shoes you got made in’!
You always have the most beautiful pictures.
Love the quotes and the photos, but definitely am glad for #5!
The political ads take all the joy out of the process. Why can’t politicians practice the Golden Rule?
Love that Elizabeth Barrett Browning quote – and your pictures!
Have a lovely weekend!
thanks for sharing the quotes. I love them all, especially the first one.
lovely photos and enjoy your time with your son.
Love the Elizabeth Barrett Browning quote, it goes so well with your lovely fall pictures…..made me want to take off my shoes!!!! π
Amen on #5! Since we were newly moved we missed the calls, but I was getting so tried of the ads.
Love the Browning quote especially. You should link this to my Week in Words meme this coming Monday in which we share favorite quotes. π
I am with you on #5, all those phone calls were driving me crazy! Same with the people with clipboards on the streets.
I like #3 also.
I love all your quotes. So good. And your #5 is fantastic. I am also SO glad that the annoying phone calls have stopped!
Such wonderful quotes. I love them all. And what gorgeous views! The reflections is stunning. I’m happy to have read your faves, puts a smile on my face.
Love that Browning quote! Yes, I echo your sentiments on the elections. Nice to have peace and quiet and civility again.
Happy week ahead!
What a lovely fall collage.
We don’t get a lot of phone calls at election time, at least not in my area. Mind you, I tend to ignore the phone if it’s unidentified or unknown numbers. :v)
It’s not hard to celebrate the end of elections. Congratulations to us all for surviving the phone calls, the surveys, the ads everywhere… Lovely shimmery images of fall, Ellen.
