We really enjoyed the Spanish Moss hanging down from the trees.
That is the door to our room.
The porches were so inviting…if only the heat and humidity were less oppressive.
In the afternoons the Inn had Sweet Tea, lemonade and cookies for guests.
In the early evening they served cheese and crackers.
Later in the evening dessert was served in the kitchen.
Although breakfast was served in this room each morning our schedule prevented us from enjoying it.
Several times a day this horse drawn carriage came by the Inn on their Beaufort historic tour.
My next post will be about Family Day at Parris Island.
Photobucket replaced all my photos with ugly black and grey boxes and they are holding my photos hostage until I pay them lots of money. I’m slowly going through all my posts and trying to clean them up and replacing some photos. Such a bother.
I don’t mind heat so much but humidity kills me. I’ve always wondered if there is a strong earthy smell wherever that moss grows. I love to stay at B&B’s….this one is lovely.
I absolutely love your posts on Rhett House!
You know where we can have our next MGCC retreat.
Lovely! It looks like you got another chance to enjoy summer…in a most lovely place.
gorgeous! just gorgeous!!
but did you ride the carriage?? I’ll bet in another week or two the weather will be PERFECT for those porches!!!
Such a lovely spot to stay!
Oh…I want to be there! Thanks for sharing. It took me away for a wee bit. Kathy
Ok, I have added the Rhett House to my list of places I want to go one of these days! It is just gorgeous and I thank you so much for the tour!
Even though I’m a born-in-New-England Yankee, I just love the gentility and history of the South and am sure I’d love to visit there sometime. Your posts are most definitely inspiring me to do just that!
Wow! This place is beautiful! Love you big pictures!
That spanish moss just sets the scene for this beautiful place. I started sweating just seeing the moss on the trees.
I’m off to look at a map. We’re planning on a trip out of Fort Lauderdale, but want to take a week ahead to tour. We’d thought of Georgia, and if this isn’t far from Savannah, perhaps we’d be able to visit. The inn is like something out of a story book.
What a lovely place to stay!
In any other setting I would wonder about the yellow walls, but having spent time in the south, and So. Carolina, I know it is JUST the perfect color for a warm humid environment.
Good for the skin you know….
Oh my goodness, I’m in love with this place! Definitely a place for us to visit if we get stationed out there some day! :o)
