Time again to visit Mary at Work of the Poet and see what people are putting in their yards these days…
So I was having myself a little chuckle as I noticed these contrasts in yard art. You have your lion and your bunny here. At least it is a smiling lion. I was thinking the lion and aΒ lamb would have been a good pairing.
Then you have what I believe is the Madonna at the front door with your classic Gnome down the stairs. Makes me want to sing this song even if there weren’t more then 2 things…
“One of these things is not like the others,
One of these things just doesn’t belong,
Can you tell which thing is not like the others
By the time I finish my song?”
I’m so glad there is yard art to entertain me on my walks!
Photobucket replaced all my photos with ugly black and grey boxes and they are holding my photos hostage until I pay them lots of money. I’m slowly going through all my posts and trying to clean them up and replacing some photos. Such a bother.
Funny! I was thinking the same thing!
What a fun post. You are hilarious, Ellen! π
oh yeah, the song is perfect.. how interesting the two..so different!
oh i always wanted one of those lions!
Oh my…now I’m trying to remember the tune….bad in the middle of the night. :o)
A very impressive welcome to a home! A touch of fantasy and a touch of spirit!
I love them both, Ellen… a bit of delight, magic and the spiritual… It says a lot about you! Oh, I’m having a giveaway this weekend to celebrate blogivesary…stop by if you get a chance. :o) Happy Days ((HUGS))
What entertaining thoughts!
Your song is perfect indeed.
And, you’ve made me smile this morning. π
You made me laugh out loud, ellen! What are these people, especially the second one, thinking! Thanks for playing yard Art! π
Really interesting contrasts you found on your walk, Ellen~ I wonder if these people wear striped shirts with plaid shorts.
Or polka dots with flowered prints.
haha ~ thanks for the smiles!
LOL-
I can understand your finding the contrasts funny! I’m that way also!
My husband found a lion yard figure at a yard sale and brought it home….He liked it!
I found it just so out of place with the other things at our place- which are mostly leaning toward ‘country’-NOT those jungle/African type animals!
Junie
I’m smiling!
Oh there really is a contrast here between the various styles of yard art. π
Great photos, I love the contrast! Good idea, it is so funny what we can find if we pay attention to things we might see all the time
