Since the table was set for Mother’s Day I’ll be able to participate in T.T. this week. I’ve been buried with other jobs around this old homestead and haven’t had the time to scape much. Please visit Susan at Between Naps on the Porch to see other tables set to dine.
There were 6 of us for dinner on Sunday night. Dear barbecued steaks and baked potatoes, Katie put a frozen pie in the oven, and Josh & Laura made a salad and salad dressing. It was all real good and wonderful to be around the table together. Katie’s boyfriend from Florida was with us, too.
I have 5 of the Blue Onion plates and 4 of the Churchill plates that look like Finlandia. I decided to mix and match with 3 of each.
I mixed and matched some more by using 3 of the Finlandia cups and saucers and 3 of the Blue Danube. The Tea Pot with the Rhododendrons in it is Blue Danube.
The napkins are Blue Danube also. I layered the plates with a blue glass dessert/salad plate and used my pewter chargers.
It was a wonderful evening.
Photobucket replaced all my photos with ugly black and grey boxes and they are holding my photos hostage until I pay them lots of money. I’m slowly going through all my posts and trying to clean them up and replacing some photos. Such a bother.
Love your blue table! Sounds like a wonderful Mother’s Day for you. We didn’t have the weather for b-b-q, but it sounds like you did. Good!
Beautiful – the blues make my heart melt!
I love this, Ellen..the plates and napkins so pretty! And that blue sald plate is just lovely!
I love seeing these. Just beautiful. 🙂
Your blue and white table is so pretty! I love the mix-and-match china, and the pink flowers add the perfect touch of color.
OOoohhh, so beautiful! I love the stemware too; gorgeous!
This is beautiful. I love the mixture of the two patterns. Adore those napkins, and I really want some of those beautiful chargers. laurie
Hi, Ellen! Long time no see! I’ve been MIA for about a month dealing with workmen, too. I’m glad to be back with the living in the World of Blog! 🙂
Now, where on earth did you find those napkins to match your blue patterns? I love them! The whole table is so pretty and serene. This is truly one of my favorite things… blue and white china. You are blessed to have these lovelies! I like the way they blend, too.
Sounds like you had a great Mother’s Day, and your table is truly lovely.
Happy Tablescape Thursday!
XO,
Sheila 🙂
What a pretty way to celebrate a lovely day. And you know I LOVE your pop of pink on the table.
Ellen, I love your blue and white dishes! Also, I love that you mixed patterns! What a good idea … I may have to try that.
You really know how to set a table, Ellen. I think you must have an unlimited supply of dishes…and table linens! Lovely…in blue.
This table scape makes me think of Russia casual elegance.
I love blue and white, it is so crisp looking. Your dishes look so nice against the blue of your lovely tablecloth. It all looks stunning against the green of the walls!
Your mixed and matched blue china is so pretty together. What a lovely table. Your meal sounds delicious – it is fun when everyone brings a dish to share!
LOVE the mixing and matching. It all came together just great!

Your table is so pretty – you’d never know that your dishes aren’t all part of the same set. They compliment each other so well.
Blue has always been a favourite of mine.
Oh, oh, oh, Ellen, I love it! The blue plates are gorgeous and look great with the clear blue salad plates and your pretty napkins! This is one of my favorite tablescapes of the week!
