We’ve been working hard around our place here in Washington getting things ready for Spring. Last week we tackled the yard. We have two major projects that we are going to hire out and then in a year tackle some more. The center photo is the “after” with the side yard cleared and all the branches are finally clipped and taken away.
We are anticipating the future arrival of most of our stuff from the Condo. We wonder where are we going to put the stuff? The piles of throw away and save for Garage Sale are getting huge. We still are in a debate about the benefits of an all consuming all day garage sale versus taking all the stuff to Goodwill. My daughter seems to be more in favor of the Garage Sale.
Dear and I walk around each room thinking “will that fit here? or should we get rid of that?”
I went through my closet today and emptied all the items I haven’t worn in years. Next stop my dresser drawers. I’m also slowly going through my really old posts on my blog. You might be seeing some re-posts soon…
In the meantime things are not neat and tidy and organized around here…I think I need some blinders!
Photobucket is holding all my photos that I stored on their site from 2007-2015 hostage replacing them with ugly grey and black boxes and asking for a large ransom to retrieve them. It is a slow process to go through all my posts deleting the ugly boxes.
I think your daughter should run the garage sale if she likes the idea so much. Me? After organizing and running 2 garage sales, I’m fully in the camp of taking it all to the Goodwill for a tax deduction.
I can not imagine…just make sure you have some fun along the way!!!! I just spent the morning outside clearing away the dead sticks in the gardens…left all the leaves…we still have too many weeks of cold weather ahead to uncover everything. HAVE FUN!!!!
wow! busy day! lol
Boy lots of work to have to be done getting ready for Spring. Someone is gonna be real busy π
You guys have been working hard! Maybe when it is all done you will get the chance to relax. Or you can come visit me and organize my place!
Better you than me! I do confess though that I have FOUR rose bushes to plant!
Wow…a lot of back breaking work is going on in the Northwest!
You could set up a second home like a movie set…in your basement just for photographing for your blog…you know …change things around monthly! Uh no, on second thought not such a good idea!
You have been busy, Ellen – the good kind!!! π I think I am with Katie about the garage sale… π
peace in chaos.
I can SO relate! The half year we spent in an apartment with just enough furnishings to be comfortable was lovely; then a huge moving van arrived with all our furnishings from our 3,000 sq. ft. Texas house. I was horrified at all the stuff we had, and here it is a year later and I am STILL making piles to haul to the Goodwill, while feeling guilty that I don’t want to give up a day for a garage sale. I mean BIG pieces of furniture…we just give it away!
Doesn’t rapture seem like the best way to move? The older I get, the less stuff I want anyway!
