We realized it’s been about 4 months since our last walk at Emma Wood State Beach in Ventura, California. This morning we arrived shortly before dawn to revisit our favorite beach walk. The tide was low but not low enough for us to walk along the sand for long.
As the light increased I enjoyed the subtle pastel colors in the sky and the iridescent colors on the water. Wish I could capture that iridescence in my photos.
You have to look closely to see the cute beach birds (Sanderlings) on the rocks…
Clearly this guy can’t read!
Hope your weekend is going well…
Photobucket is holding all my photos that I stored on their site from 2007-2015 hostage replacing them with ugly grey and black boxes and asking for a large ransom to retrieve them. It is a slow process to go through all my posts deleting the ugly boxes.
Wow…you guys like to get going early on the weekends….I know what you mean about trying to capture images like our eyes can see them….so glad God made our eyes better than my camera!
Hi Ellen B.,
Just popping over for a second. Do you know what kind of birds those are? I think their called Grealing White Snipes and they live primarily off Grabolshiberries ;-0.
So, you’ll be home for Christmas with your kids? That’s wonderful!!!! Maybe we can meet up sometime after the New Year…life is a crazy place isn’t it?
I hope you have a lovely weekend!!!
xoxo Cori G.
Okay, that photo of the moss on the stones is fabulous.

So much enjoyed this serene walk…I love those moss-covered walks and that big, big sky…breathtaking! Happy weekend, Ellen :o) ((HUGS))
LOL. That seagull one cracked me right up. You need to enter that somewhere.
How blessed you are to be able to do these gorgeous beach walks!
Ellen, beautiful beach, sea and sky shots! Sorry I haven’t been around of late. Just busy! Hope all is well! 🙂
Even the rocks are intriguing to me. I love birds and the Sanderling as a “new one” to me.

okay,………ummm…..I thought those little birds were eyeballs on some sea creature at first…..maybe I should head to bed?
