We Made it Through the Storm!!

Our trip to Vancouver B.C. was a great contrast in light and dark, wet and dry, stormy clouds and blue skies. When we hit downtown Vancouver and turned onto Georgia St. the rains came down in buckets and I’m not exaggerating. Rivers formed within minutes on the downtown streets.

We got to Stanley Park and found the right road to get to the Teahouse Restaurant and it was fun to hear the big plops of rainwater hitting our car off the huge trees. We got out of the car to run into the restaurant and it was like someone was standing over us pouring water out of a pitcher onto our heads. We ate lunch in the conservatory type room and enjoyed seeing the rain all around us.

After lunch we decided the best option for this day would be to go to the Aquarium.

After our time at the Aquarium we were treated to some beautiful dry skies.

I’ll be posting photos from lunch, the aquarium, and more from Stanley Park as the week goes on.

Photobucket is holding all my photos that I stored on their site from 2007-2015 hostage replacing them with ugly grey and black boxes and asking for a large ransom to retrieve them. It is a slow process to go through all my posts deleting the ugly boxes.

  1. Hi Ellen,

You both look like you had a fun day despite the rain! I love that picture of you – you hairdo looks great! I am curious how long it takes to get to Vancouver from Seattle.

  2. Wonderful pictures. That conservatory looks like a great place to have lunch. The one of your daughter on the pier is excellent. Well they all are really. There’s an award for you on my blog my friend 🙂

  3. Hi Ellen B.,

I haven’t been around much lately either…so much to do…so little time ;-).
Life has its seasons for everything.

Hey are you going to be in Seattle on Friday? hubby and I are flying in to town. Maybe we’ll bump into each other wandering down the street. Wouldn’t that be funny!!!!

I hope you’re having a lovely time enjoying the rain.

    xoxo Cori G.

  4. Looks like you had just the right wardrobe…
This is too funny. I’ve been working on my blog this afternoon and I’m not sure how that post came up, because it was dated for Aug. 19th 2009 and I noticed you left a comment…Sometimes these blogs are so unpredictable. Thanks for your comment anyways. I had that long time ago.

  5. Oh do come again .. .it doesn’t rain in Canada every day ..
We still may never have met face to face . .but now I can say with certainty that we’ve stood in the same spot overlooking the inlet.
