My Outdoor Wednesday Post is from the soccer field at the U.S. Open Cup Semi-finals in Renton, Washington. Thanks to Susan at A Southern DayDreamer for hosting the weekly event.
Tuesday afternoon/evening I attended the Sounders U.S. Open Cup Game against Houston Dynamo with my kids and Jamie D. What an intense physical game. Houston scored in the first half and we didn’t tie the game up until the 89th minute to force an overtime. We scored in the first five minutes of overtime and then it was nail biting excitement to the end!!
Our seats were up close and personal. We were happy to have just a little shade because it was hot in Seattle yesterday. Very close to 90 degrees but it felt even hotter on the field.
Jaqua got hit hard early in the first half and had to have his head bandaged. The ref really did not control the game well and the crowd let him know what they thought of him. Jaqua ended up scoring in the 89th minute to tie the game!
The Seattle soccer crowd is loud!
You should have heard the crowd explode when we tied the game up and then when King scored early on in overtime. We now head to the finals that are sometime in September.
Things are a bit slow for me in bloggy world this week. My connections here in Seattle are slower then molasses and my brain is distracted with all the home activities I have here. Hopefully I’ll get organized soon.
Photobucket is holding all my photos that I stored on their site from 2007-2015 hostage replacing them with ugly grey and black boxes and asking for a large ransom to retrieve them. It is a slow process to go through all my posts deleting the ugly boxes.
I’m with you the whole way….Way to go! That is so exciting. I was watching Manchester United play against Barcelona in May and I’m a MU fan because my daughter’s boyfriend is from England. Yesterday I found a MU scarf….I bought it and yes, let’s just keep cheering. I love it when the crowd becomes so ecstatic.
And then of course Jaqua scoring!!! What else can we say?
Ellen – your pictures are so vivid! I love the blue and green.
Hope Katie is feeling a bit better today.
Your Sports photos are amazing Ellen. . you should get paid for taking those. The blues and greens are so clear ..
Ellen, you really captured the action with these photos! I can feel the crowds energy.
Ellen, you are quite THE FAN, aren’t you? I love the fact that you are always enjoying you life.
Glad to hear that you made it back to Seattle. Get some good deserved rest!!
Blessings!
What a fun post! And such great photos! I love that field of green in the bleachers!
Go Seattle!

Excellent pictures as always. What a fun phots and tons of green. 🙂 Looks absolutely fun 🙂
Well, well… I’ve seen you over at Arti’s, of course, but never peeked in here. Now I do and discover that – your team beat my team! I’m in the Houston area, and follow the Dynamo.
Congrats and best wishes for continued success. Your photos are so wonderful I’ll be happy to root for all that green!
Great shots of the blue and green! love them
Thanks for sharing.

Looks like FUN… great photos!
I don’t know how those guys run for hours in that kind of heat. Looks like it was a great game though.
