1 Timothy 4:7-10 (New International Version)
7Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. 8For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
9This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance 10(and for this we labor and strive), that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe.

Good morning Ellen B.,
This is such a great visual for your scripture. I love the parts about old wives tales. How those things can be passed from one generation to the next and people live by them. Ah yes! Scripture is the only way to go!!!
I hope you have a lovely day in our beautiful state ;-)!

Powerful texts…I had not encountered these for a while, so thanks for highlighting them today.
wait…what do you mean within driving distance?!!!!!! Let me know…are you coming up to our neck of the woods…or neck of the ocean or whatever?!
WOW…that’s a great scripture for us today. We have become a society that too often puts the ways of man and “fixing” all of life’s problems ahead of fixing our spiritual issues. Good stuff. God and His ways must come before being fanatical about anything of this world…even though we are to care for our bodies and all of His creation. Thanks for taking part…PARTAY ON!
What a good Word for today! “Train yourself to be godly”. That means we must put some consistent effort forth, it won’t just drop upon us.
Great post, Ellen! I always enjoy the verses you choose for edification of blogville.
