Three or More ~ Crosses

All my posts this week will be relating to Holy Week and The Celebration of the Resurrection of Christ.

These are some crosses that I have at my home in Washington and at the Condo in California.

A prayer from Richard of Chichester (1197-1253) English bishop who fought to abolish the abuses common in the church of his day.

“Thanks be to you, our Lord Jesus Christ,
for all the benefits that you have given us,
for all the pains and insults that you have borne for us.
Most merciful Redeemer, Friend, Brother,
may we know you more clearly,
love you more dearly,
and follow you more nearly,
day by day.”

To see Three or More Posts visit Tam at The Gypsy’s Corner.

Photobucket is holding all my photos that I stored on their site from 2007-2015 hostage replacing them with ugly grey and black boxes and asking for a large ransom to retrieve them. It is a slow process to go through all my posts deleting the ugly boxes.

  1. Nice prayer….the last part of it is a ’70s song “Day by Day”…now I know where it could have come from.

    How’s Mom doing?

  2. I love “Day by Day” which are part of this prayer! 🙂

Love your crosses, Ellen! They are beautiful!

    Happy 3 or More Tuesday…

    XO,

    Sheila 🙂

  3. Hello Ellen B.!
How is our mother doing? Is she feeling any better? I do hope so!!!
I dropped over to let you know that I have an award for you on my blog :).

    🙂 Cori G.

  4. Hi Ellen. Sorry I haven’t been to visit as often lately. (Guess you can probably guess the reason why)!. I do love your blog…and good on you for doing a Holy Week series. I was just thinking to myself that is what I should be doing this week.
Thanks for your visit to My World post today from NYC. Yes, I am so enjoying being here and with the family, and watching little grandson grow, and be happy. He is such a cutie pie! I am such a lucky grandmother!

  5. Gee Ellen, I just read about your Mother. Do hope she is ok. That was bad luck for her.
I once went to an 80th birthday where the guest of honor had to stay at home (she had asthma or bronchitis and her doctor daughter said she couldn’t go out)! It was very strange, and such a shame for her to miss it!

I was going to comment on your little verse today…it is written in my grandmothers spidery hand writing in the back of her old bible which i have. I have often wondered where that verse came from. So thank you for sharing it with us.
Just goes to show if we wait long enough all our questions will be answered!

  6. I followed the trail from Cori’s blog and what a jewel I found here! Kisses for your mother – my own mommy is 86 and I love her more each day. LOVE your crosses…simply beautiful. I must come back and visit again soon. **blows kisses** Deborah

  7. Your crosses are beautiful!!! What a lovely thing to share this week. Where would we all be without the sacrifice made on that cross?!
God bless you and have a Happy Easter!!!
    XOXO
    Cathy
