Our Metamorphosis this week is all about the bathroom. We have one bathroom in our Condo. The sink area is separate from the shower and toilet. There are no cabinets in the shower/toilet area. We decided the space above the toilet could be used to our advantage for some more storage.
Here’s what the wall above and around the toilet looked like before. (It is very hard to get good photos in this small space)
Here is Dear at the beginning of the project. We bought this upper Kitchen Cabinet from the Home Depot. It is part of their standard stock items.
It fits and is ready to add the shelves and the doors. We get three shelves of space in this new cabinet.
The doors are on but we’re thinking we need some hardware to make it easier to open the cupboard.
Now we’re getting there. We decide at this point a little shelf would be nice to tie this space together better.
We found a shelf and started experimenting with decor to add to the shelf. Attempt #1…something is not right.
Attempt #2 after finding these 3 matching plates at the Goodwill for $3.00.
I like this look a lot better than attempt #1.
While we were at it we decided these green towels really didn’t go with our wall color.Ā Truth be told I do not like to dry myself with a towel that has a large decorative pattern on it that is not terry cloth. So we switched out the fancier towels for plain white towels and I like the look a lot better especially now that we have the white cabinet and shelf added.
Susan At Between Naps on the Porch is the hostess for this weekly Metamorphosis Monday. Head on over and see lots of before and afters. Enjoy your Monday everyone.
Photobucket is holding all my photos I stored with them from 2007-2015 hostage unless I pay them a lot of money. I’m slowly cleaning up many posts from this time period and deleting their ugly grey and black boxes with a ransom request. Such a time consuming bother.
God bless those husbands with cordless drills. You two have done alot with that small condo to make it yours. You can never have too much storage and your solution looks sweet too!
I’ll put my vote in for #2, but you may need a tassel to complete the ensemble :)!
Such excellent ideas you come up with Ellen B. and I just LoVe that shade of green!! Is it the same color as your Washington dining room?
They look identical.
Have a fun Sunday.

How’s your 40 days with Jesus going? I’d love to know!
What a pair you guys make…great job in a small space.
Looks great! That shelf under the cabinet is really a nice touch.

Looks great!

Wow! Ellen, you and hubby make a great pair! This is so nice! I know that cabinet gives you lots of extra storage. I just love that little white shelf and how you have those pretty blue and white plate hanging down with the ribbon. I love that!
be a sweetie,
Shelia š
That looks so good. Gives you lots more storage.
Ellen,
that really adds to your bath and I love your decorative touches. Cindy
Beautiful! Happy Met Monday!
Very nice! I love the little cabinet underneath with the plates.
You can never have enough storage, can you? I really like what you did and how you decorated it. Great idea!
Great additional storage…looks like it should have always been there! I like attempt #2…you always find the cutest things at Goodwill! Love your Met Monday posts! š Susan
You created a beautiful bathroom!
Love the shelf and precious hanging plates. š
what a nice job you made of this! i love those plates.. and you got them at the thrift store? well done, girlie;)
That little shelf makes this project! I love those cute plates from the thrift shop!
Cathy
It just keeps getting better…well done…Ann
Looks great! Love the crisp white against the walls. White towels are my absolute favorite, and so easy to keep looking great because you can bleach them or use oxy-whatever-its-called. My DH has been stocking up on new oversized ones, buying one or two each time he goes to Costco. They’re fabulously luxurious, spa-like, and HUGE :o)
Have a great week!
Victoria
Very smart idea. Looks great.
Love your bathroom metamorphosis. It’s blessed to have a handy husband, isn’t it? š
I like option #2. The small shelf with the hanging plates make the space and gives it some flavor. Good idea and a great find…. Well done.
