Today for Three or More Tuesday I’m showing my Russian Lacquer Boxes. My heritage is Russian and I’ve always loved these boxes.
Dear bought me this first lacquer box for an anniversary of ours in the 70’s.
My parents brought us this one from one of their trips to Russia.
This last one was purchased at Goodwill.
Tam at The Gypsy’s Corner is the hostess for Three or More so if you’d like to join in head on over and sign in on Mr. Linky.
Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone!
Photobucket is holding all my photos I stored with them from 2007-2015 hostage unless I pay them a lot of money. I’m slowly cleaning up many posts from this time period and deleting their ugly grey and black boxes with a ransom request. Such a time consuming bother.
Russian lacquer boxes – How exquisite!
I’ve never seen anything like these before – they are beautiful!
Those are beautiful Ellen, and wonderful keepsakes from your heritage!
Do the paintings each tell a story, perhaps a Russian fable?
Nice collection…very colorful.
Thanks for sharing these gems.
Happy Tues, Candy
Very cool boxes! I love the Goodwill one, but they are all so pretty!
Ellen:
These are so detailed and interesting!
What special keepsakes. Each one is so different.
Even found one at Goodwill? Must have been Wa. Goodwill, right?
Hi Ellen
Those boxes remind me of a black tray that mom used to have. It had pictures like that on it. It’s funny – I had forgotten all about it until I saw your beautiful boxes.
Happy Tuesday to you as well.

Lovely little boxes, Ellen! I think there really must be some Russian in my heritage somewhere. Or maybe I should just adopt it!
Those are absolutely beautiful, Ellen!
(I have a lot of my family history traced and ironically, I think Russian is the one thing I don’t have any of although I have heritage going way back I never knew I did!)
Blessings,
~Tammy
These boxes are simply lovely! Do you know what they are traditionally used for?
How beautiful! The detail and colors are amazing. They remind me of storybook Illustrations.
OK, headed over to your friend Kathy’s post. I hope your having a lovely time with your kids :).
These boxes are gorgeous! The colors are so deep. I’m sure they mean a lot to you. And what a find that last one was……I have never seen anything like that in the Goodwills around here! 🙂

Absolutly stunning!!!
What beautiful pieces of art and I love items that connect someone to their heritage. I can’t believe you found the last one at goodwill.
Wonderful ‘Three Or More’ post.
Have a great evening,
Tam
These boxes are beautiful! How do you display them? I don’t recall seeing these before. That is what is so cool about blogging, seeing things you might not see otherwise. And learning about them too!
