Tablescape Tuesday ~ Bar Scapes for Two

Time flies when you are having fun! It’s almost Tuesday again and time for some more Tablescaping fun. Today I’m showing two variations on table settings at our bar in our little condo. Susan at Between Naps on the Porch is the hostess for this fun event. Click on over and see the variety of fun, romantic, elegant, practical table settings that have been created.

I’ve been away from the computer for a couple days so I’ll be playing catch-up on Metamorphosis Monday and Blue Monday.

The chargers are from TJ Maxx clearance. I used my everyday white dinner plates and then added the salad plate that I found at Marshall’s on clearance. I love plates with country scenes on them. The martini glasses, that I use for pretty desserts, too, were from target a couple years ago.

I changed up the tablesetting at the bar with these square grey chargers and square white plates and a small decorative plates that are “White Russian” plates. I love the little cocktail glasses I found with the Russian Cossack dancers on them. The napkin rings were a gift from my DIL and Son last Christmas.

My true confession for this week is that we did not eat at these settings. Don’t judge me too harshly, though.

Now head on over to Susan’s for more Tablescape inspiration.

Photobucket is holding all my photos from 2007 to 2015 hostage and has replaced them all with ugly black and grey boxes asking for a ransom to have them re-published. Such a frustrating bother as I go through each post to delete the ugly boxes.

  1. I love your polka dot chargers! How cute are those White Russian plates!!

The bar looks wonderful – I love the lighting!

Your confession cracks me up! Girl, if I ate at every tablescape I would need to go on the Biggest Loser show.

  2. Wow! Not one but two great tablescapes…and clever of you to use the string of lights…never thought of that! Love those salad plates, too!
    Have a happy week!

  3. Not only do I totally love the “Francais et Chic” look of the black/white dishware and tablescape, but I adore the color of your walls near the bar with the pics of the irises. What is the name of that color? It’s so striking! Your chargers ARE gorgeous too…where did you get the second set of dishes? They are so posh and fun! SUPER job today with your tablescape! ~CC Stop by and say hello! =)

  4. I love your tablescape for two. You said you didn’t eat at these. Do you ever set nice setting for two that you actually eat at? Check out my craft blog for more of Helmi’s antics.

  5. Silly girl! Most of us don’t eat on those Tablescapes we create for Tablescape Tuesdays! We love to buy dishes, but we don’t love to cook! Your tablescapes were beautiful!

  6. Well Ellen – I was wondering if you did that for just the two of you. I think my husband might say “Um pretty – but where’s the food??” He likes dishes (blue and white ones) but I would have to say that the food is his primary interest 🙂

  7. Ellen,
This is a GREAT concept! I love the way you used the lights. I have been inspired! The dishes are gorgeous – you have a very artisic touch to your decorating approach. I will visit you often.
    Warmly,

  8. I’m hunting for a TJ Maxx with one more of those little salad plates…. we were there recently on a trip to new orleans and the Mr. found them, thought they were lovely… I think I’ve converted him! I had to purchase the set of four minus the one salad plate… and would SO love having one more, If anyone could check their local store and give me the info, I could contact the store and get another! Pretty please!!! ~Katy k8t@bellsouth.net

  9. Such creative ideas you always come up with. Why Ellen B. I think you’d make a right fine event planner.
I hope today is cooler for you…can’t wait to see your pics from Pismo :).

  10. Two very different looks, both incorporating the elegant black and white…love this! Both tablescapes are very striking, and show that you don’t have to set a formal dinner table in the dining room to get an elegant, classy look. 🙂 I get so many ideas from all of you creative Tuesday girls.

  11. I felt like I was looking at photo in a very upscale magazine. Gorgeous composition on both! who would want to disrupt the beauty of the effect with food anyway! Looks to pretty to use! Beautiful barscapes!

  12. Fun, fun, fun …. I love it. The chargers are a great find and I too love TJ Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods (do you have a HomeGoods?) You never know what you are going to find.

  13. LOL 🙂 I love your true confession !! LOL LOL

But gosh the settings are a delight! Honestly what a vast change up, between the two displays!…the design on the plates is super, by the way…and we all need a bit of whimsy!

  14. I so apologize for being so tardy. My computer is all messed up.. but finally I made over to your beautiful tablescape. I love your plates with the scenes on them.. they truly stole my heart. Have you had them long? Your plates with the beautiful dresses are so unique and fun. I loved this.. thanks so much for swinging by the graped themed table. I’m glad you liked the mix and match of the old with the new.. I hope you’re having a super week my friend.. I’ll definetly be back.. this time sooner.. 🙂 I’m hoping the computer issues have been resolved..
    hugs ~lynne~

  15. Ellen, these are beautiful…love the elegance of the black and white. I always like the plates with the country scenes, too! 🙂 The lighting is magical…never would have thought to do it that way…love it! 🙂 Susan

  16. Ellen, I’m so happy to have found your site – and this post. I know it’s not one of your current, but I am hoping you will get this message. I have been doing “barscapes” for about 10 years now – ever since we built a bar in the area that used to occupy our family room dining table. I know my friends think I’m nuts. I’ve never don anything quite as elegant as the ones you’ve shown, but I’m going to give it a try now.
    Love the lights!
