Friday’s Fave Five

If you haven’t already why don’t you join us in thinking back over this past week and picking out your 5 favorites. It’s a great exercize of counting your blessings. Susanne at Living to tell the Story is the hostess for this weekly meme.

1. On Saturday Dear and I returned to our favorite early morning walk and were rewarded with wonderful crashing waves.

2. After our walk on Saturday, Dear re-did the shelves in our condo pantry giving me an extra shelf. Oh the joy of an extra shelf in our little condo. Whoohoo!  Shhh, don’t tell dear I’m thinking I have more room for pretty dishes!

3. We’ve been eating “in” more to coincide with our daily exercise program we’ve started. Dear and I added resistance training this week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday instead of walking. We already are benefiting from our extra efforts.

4. I’m still walking with Willow every week day but Friday and with Dear on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Willow and I  blazed a new trail this week in her neighborhood and that was fun. Sunday is our day of rest…

5. Thrift store shopping continues to be something I really enjoy and I found a few goodies this week that I will change the original function for and show you in the future what I came up with.

We are having a heat wave here in Southern California. Dear and I are headed north on Sunday for an overnight and hope to enjoy cooler weather, at least down into the 70’s.  Have a wonderful weekend…

Photobucket is holding all my photos from 2007 to 2015 hostage and has replaced them all with ugly black and grey boxes asking for a ransom to have them re-published. Such a frustrating bother as I go through each post to delete the ugly boxes.

About Ellen am a wife, mother, baba (grandmother) and a loyal friend. Jesus is my King and my hope is in my future with Him.

  1. Room for more dishes—lol. I don’t know how you store all you share, but I may be forgetting how many are in your Seattle home. I really need to get the ingredients for that salad…the girls are coming home. So I”ll be good and go lift weights, do my elipitical then I’ll hit the store. Sadly though they also requested my Whole Wheat Sour Cream Chocolate Chip bread—I’m thinking that cancels out the salad. RESIST will be the word for the weekend.

  2. I was wondering where you kept all those pretty dishes . . .

Goodness Ellen – with all those walks, healthy eating and now resistance training? You are going to be one good looking mama.

  3. I like how you show your pictures in a collage arrangements. Very neat! Our high today is nowhere near the 70’s. It’s 13. LOL Enjoy your weekend!

  4. LOL. If I would have known you wanted cooler weather, Ellen, I’d have invited you for coffee when it was -35*C (I think in the minus 20’s for you guys).

What girl can’t use more cupboard and shelf space. What a good hubby making that for you!

  5. Good for you for doing all the walking!! I need to get started. I also need to explore the Salvation Army thrift store that just opened nearby. It used to be downtown and I thought I’d get there more often now that it’s closer — but haven’t yet!!

  6. Ha Ha! More shelving. A girl can always use more shelving. Hubby and I are sitting here doing final drawings for a built-in that will give me more shelving. Goodwill here I come!

I hope you have a wonderful trip up north. This heat is miserable isn’t it?

  7. well done on securing another shelf. . .and way to go on your fitness levels soaring. . .I’m feeling quite good in that regard myself. . .and your salad. .again looks scrumptious.
