Indescribable
From the highest of heights
To the depths of the sea
Creation’s revealing your majesty
From the colors of Fall
To the fragrance of Spring
Every creature unique
And the song that it sings
All exclaiming-
Indescribable, uncontainable
You placed the stars in the sky
And you know them by name
You are amazing, God
All powerful, untameable
Awestruck, we fall to our knees
As we humbly proclaim
You are amazing, God
Who has told every lightening bolt
Where it should go?
Or seen heavenly storehouses
Laden with snow?
Who imagined the sun
And gives source to the light?
Yet conceals it to bring us the coolness of night
None can fathom-
Indescribable, uncontainable
You placed the stars in the sky
And you know them by name
You are amazing, God
Incomparable, unchangeable
You see the depths of my heart
And you love me the same
You are amazing, God

Good morning Ellen B.,
This is one of my favorite worship songs. I just adore the lyrics.
I see you’ve posted about Santa Barbara…going to go check it out!
I hope you have a wonderful day!

I love to sing this song. Your photo collage is such a poweful touch. You could also tie in with Lana’s photo today,” you placed the stars in the sky”.
Have a blessed Sunday.
Ellen, this is just beautiful. And, your photos gloriously demonstrate God’s majesty.
oops, Lana’s photo yesterday, correction.
One of my favorites! The pictures are glorious!
wonderful, thank you
Singing with you Ellen. . .another wonderful song.
We sang this in church this morning and then I saw it on your blog! It’s wonderful to know that we sing the same worship songs even though we are far apart.
Blessings,
-Jeanie
Wonderful praise song. Did you know Jack can sing this one! LOVE it when he does.
simply lovely!
The woman who wrote this song was at a women’s conference at First Christain a little while back and she has an amazing story, and a beautiful voice. It made me appreciate the song even more. Although I’ve got to admit my favorite version is when Jack used to sing it!
