Before September slips away…
“The breezes taste
Of apple peel.
The air is full
Of smells to feel-
Ripe fruit, old footballs,
Burning brush,
New books, erasers,
Chalk, and such.
The bee, his hive,
Well-honeyed hum,
And Mother cuts
Chrysanthemums.
Like plates washed clean
With suds, the days
Are polished with
A morning haze.”
–Â Â John Updike, September

Those are all beautiful shots. I am so happy that fall is here and it’s cooler. I have a lot of lantana at my place (I noticed yours) and the hummers and butterflies love it.
Wow – what beautiful fall colors, Ellen! I love the lantana shots.
Re: dollhouse needlework chart – it didn’t come with the embroidery floss, but a list of thread colors in order to stitch out one that looks just like the picture. I think I am just going to use their colors instead of coming up with my own. Life is made easier that way. =)
What a great collage! It’s definitely speaking of fall. 🙂
Hi Ellen, Beautiful Fall Post! And I enjoyed browsing through your bridal shower post! It was elegant and pretty! Love the green cake! 🙂 ~Rhonda
Beautiful photos Ellen. Happy Fall to you too!
Hi Ellen….you found a perfect poem to ring in the Fall season on your blog. I like the collage too….
Hello Ellen B. and happy autumn. I just love your collage, but the spider web is really too scary! Sweet hubby wanted me to dump some trash out back Saturday night and thankfully I was rebelling against his request. Right in the middle of our walk was one of those huge spiders with a body the size of a nickel. Not including the lags of course. Woooh! Scary!
Hope you have a lovely autumn evening.
Hi Ellen
Happy Fall! You’ve put together such a colourful collage and I like the poem also. It says it all. Now I hope it stays fall as long as it can before the next season….yikes!
Have a lovely day.
It was nice to see you at my blog too!
Judi
