Bridging the Gap ~ Day 4

My bridge for today is from my favorite place to walk in Southern California. This is a foot-bridge we use when we walk along Emma Wood State Beach in Ventura.

This is Dear after he crossed the bridge. This shot was taken in the Winter. We usually start our walks at 7 A.M. so we pretty much have the beach to ourselves. The next shot is the same bridge taken in the summer time with my friend Jody from Washington crossing it.

I took it at this angle to get this great patch of Cactus in the photo.

Photobucket is holding all my photos that I posted on my blog from 2007-2015 hostage and replaced them with big black and grey boxes with threats. So discouraging…as I’m slowly trying to clean up thousands of posts!

  1. Absolutely beautiful Ellen! It never ceases to startle me when walking along the beach and looking out on the vast dunes and then spotting a cactus. Two great features of this land put together for such stupendous contrast.

    Excellent post.

  2. I love the beach off-season!! love that bridge, beautiful images and love the cactus, but I hope there are no kids playing in that area (ouch!)

  3. Reminds me a bit of some the beaches near Monterey, which have the soft dunes rather than the rocky cliffs further north or south. Of course, we don’t have the cacti 😉

It’s a beautiful day here, I wouldn’t mind being at the beach.

But we do have a lovely sunny bay photo – fits with the theme of “bridges.”

  4. Oh, that first image is beautiful! The sky and the ocean, the wood of the footbridge – a wonderful combination!
Cacti at the beach – it looks pretty but I’m thinking lots of scantily clad people in bare feet. Ouch. 🙂

  5. Whoof!! I keep seeing all these places that would be woofenderful to go playin’ in… and this is one of the nicest yet. That is a nice bridge, but I think I’d walk in that little gully instead, so long as there’s not water past me chest deep. Bark!!

  6. These are great shots, ellen. What a beautiful location, a great place to take your walks. Such a plain little bridge, yet very serviceable. I like the way you got the cactus and the bridge with your friend all in that last shot.

  7. I love the cactus which we don’t have here in North Idaho and the foot bridge is great.
The foot bridge reminds me of a place here called Roman Nose.

My photo is up and if you get chance stop on it for some coffee.

I read all comments and appreciate them.
