Sky Watch ~ Seattle Skies

I’m in the Seattle area for the next six weeks so I’m hoping for some great skies to show you. I took this one last night from my upstairs bathroom window. A storm was blowing in and it was a great one. We had lots of dramatic thunder and lightning. Nope I wasn’t able to catch a lightning photo. Someday…

For more Skies from around the world visit our great humble host Tom at Wiggers World. Thanks Tom!

Photobucket is holding all my photos I stored with them from 2007-2015 hostage. They have blacked out all those photos on my blog posts. OH BOTHER! I’m slowly cleaning up my posts.

About Ellen am a wife, mother, baba (grandmother) and a loyal friend. Jesus is my King and my hope is in my future with Him.

  1. Ah .. .the storm was quite something. I forgot to mention in my post until you asked about it. I went back in and added a few comments about it.
Your sky picture is amazing Ellen.

  2. It is well known that we Portuguese once sailed the seven seas searching for new lands, wealth and adventures.
We were brave in those days and gave the world new worlds!

Luckily I don’t have to sail the big oceans on a small ship to sea the wonders of our world …
No Sir, I just need to check with Mr. Tom, the finest host there is, for a trip around the world with SKY WATCH TOURS and with a click here, a click there I am quickly in the USA, England, Brazil, Italy, China, Australia, Finland … well, everywhere.

And on each stop I come to see a little marvel of our world under a great sky!
Hope you can come and see my piece of the sky …

  3. Very pretty. I wish we could return the Seattle area and this time be able to see the sights. We were there as part of the Urban Evangelsim practicum through school and only saw a lot of churches.

  4. How beautiful! I always imagine the Lords voice whenever I hear thunder. There’s something peaceful and terrifying at the same time.
I hope you have a wonderful six weeks and a happy 4th! I’ll miss going places and wondering…”hum, maybe I’m passing Ellen B. on the freeway.”

  5. I think this is going to be the best Sky Watch Friday yet. The things I have seen are very encouraging and the photography is spot on.

I really admire your photography skills and your critical eye for composition, lighting and texture.

  6. Lovely sky!
Lightening is hard to capture or so I’m finding. We had so many storms the past couple of weekends but I couldn’t time it right – good luck on your endeavors.

  7. It’s always interesting to see what the sky is like in another place. I’m blessed with a big blue sky here in Alberta…but sometimes it gets moody too, just like your photo. Also Ellen, I need your help in identifying some flowers and other natural creatures I see here, I’m sure it’ll be easy for you…when you have time.

  8. It is always fun to be around new skies and see the differences and the ways they are the same and isn’t it great that we have skywatch to help us notice all this beauty

  9. Seattle does have some amazing skies. I spent two months there way back in 1978. I was always amazed by the different views of the mountains – one day a floating island, one day a huge monolith and some days seemingly not there at all. And those wonderful long twilights. This is a beautiful photo with just that hint of color between the two darknesses.

  10. Beautiful view from your bathroom window! I love clouds myself and have only just started to photograph skies. I’ve joined Sky Watch for the first time this week with a view from my front patio. Happy 4th of July to you and yours!
    Hugs and blessings,

  11. How nice to be inside when the weather us rough!
Great Sky to show Seattle! Eve, in France I’ve heard it’s a rainy town!
Have a great 4th of July celebration, with or without rain.
